I was supposed to be on the Star Princess today!

It is rainey here in Nebraska.

While wishing I was on a cruise - it dawned on me that I had booked the Star Princess for today about a year and a half ago!

If I had kept the booking - I would be sailing as we speak!

Oh well . . .There will be a cruise this summer for me.

awww that bites! It was a rainy dismal day here in the northeast too. I sat around reading cruise reviews most of the day. I think I have a serious problem- lol. Is there a 12 step program for my addiction?

Boy, that is a horrible disappointment, Theresa. Too bad you remembered!

I am addicted too! Weather is hot and sunny here, about the same temp as the Carib, but it is still not the same!! Yesterday I sat by the pool for an hour or so and tried to pretend that I was on the ship. Pathetic, isn't it? Our next cruise will be in Oct, I think. Where are you going this summer, Theresa? deja, yours is in Sept to the W Carib, right? Don't know where we will go! We may wait til the last minute to see how the hurricanes are, then try to get a bargain. We want to go to the S Carib or Panama Canal.

We are doing Alaska on Radiance this summer - June 26th.

After that - it will have to be next year before I can cruise again .

I have a land based vacation in Sept. Between that and my Alaska trip - I am out of vacation!

Gloria - I love last minute specials. I used to book a year in advance but my last 2 cruises were booked 1 month in advance (Explorer) and 7 weeks in advance (Grand). On both trips - everything went perfect!

I would love to try the Panama Canal. They may be my next one. I just wish the Coral Princess wasn't so dang expensive.

Hi Gloria,

We're booked on The Grand Princess, October 22. I'm a little worried about hurricane season- but I'd rather be out to sea where they can get us out of it than stuck at home with no power and days of pounding rain!

Has anyone ever been on a cruise during horrible weather? I'd like to know how you handled it.

We've got a mini 2 day booked out of NYC on the Carnival Triumph - to nowhere. We're taking the kids for graduation and birthday celebrations.

We booked our last cruise (which was our first) 6 weeks in advance. And we're holding out untill this week on the cruise to nowhere, since we don't care where the rooms are located on a 2 day fiasco out of NYC - lol!
Four teens and 2 adults - all partying together, no sleep - we can nurse our hangovers when we get home. (ok don't start bashing me about underage drinking <g>)

Anyway I am blathering! I'm exhausted. Early bedtime for me tonight.

We were going to cruise on her with you but we both changed our minds and decided on different cruises. Maybe we will sail together again someday.

I saw the the Star Princess in San Pedro on Saturday when I was in Long Beach visiting my daughter. What a sight! The good thing is that you have another cruise booked to take your mind off this painful loss! Alaska sounds great. We want to do that one too, but first comes the Panama Canal on Coral Princess 4/23/2003.
