Cruise Poll Du Jour

Ok, I wrote an offer at 8 a.m. and showed property for 4 hours with a 2-year-old today, so I feel entitled to re-live a positive cruise moment and post the poll question :-)

The poll du jour is "Re-tell a Funny Cruise Moment"

Mine is from the last one we went on in February. For some reason Princess popped two free photo gift certificates in our Patter mailbox mid-cruise addressed to "Mr and Mrs Simpson."

Of course, I used 'em, but I *was* honest enough to tell the photo shop rep of the mixup. He said I just had to sign for 'em and that's all he cared about.

So, first photo, I signed as "Mrs. Wallis Simpson" ... feel free to curtsy

And the second as "Homer Simpson" ... D'oh!

The photo rep thanked me, and as I left I reminded him to say "goodbye" and he said, "Goodbye Mrs Simpson."

Think my topper has to be one of the few times I was the target of a prank, rather than the planner. Cruising with friends on the HAL Veendam, and our last stop of the week was their private island (Half Moon Cay).
We had enjoyed a wonderful day on the island, and I was standing on the beach, just getting ready to return to the ship.
Suddenly a "gorgeous young thing" in a string bikini (not easy to find on a HAL cruise<G>) came running toward me from across the beach... yelling KUKI, KUKI!!

I turned, she jumped on me, wrapping herself around me, saying.. Dont you remember me from the Destiny? Surely you remember me!!
I was caught totally off guard. My mind was racing.... Mrs Kuki was standing there watching.
While I was thinking to myself.. trust me baby, if we'd met I'd have remembered you, I was also trying to figure out where to put my hands, with Mrs Kuki watching the proceedings.
One of the VERY few times in my life I was speechless!

Then I turned to see the entire group rolling in the sand laughing, and yelling GOT U!
Not only did they GET ME, they captured the entire episode on video, and sent me a copy to review later.

Turned out the good sport beauty was a honeymooner the gang had met on the ship earlier in the week, and convinced to participate.
And many of these same folks are joining us on the Get Lei'd Cruise in a couple of weeks. Just maybe it'll be get even time!!

How about icky-poo, funny, and bizarre. I have acrylic overlays on my nails. The sunblock (Sam's Club brand) caused the nails to become "tacky". I spend an entire day whilst now diving picking up lint on my nails as if they were laiden with velcro. I called the salon upon returning to the ship asking about having the acrylics remove. They were not only linty but were also pastey. She stated that it was only a chemical reaction and that all I need to do was to have the french manicure removed. Problem easily solved, but GROSS!
