Default Poll of the day: Next planned vacation- cruise or land crui

Mine: Land/ Ferry cruise to Cozumel mid June for a second honeymoon sin me esposo (spelling). This is my first time EVER leaving our kids (oldest is 5 1/2 years). My mom is flying from California to watch them. Can't wait. (Thanks Tom for the reminder!) Things have been so crazy I forgot I was going! (gasp!)

This weekend.... pull the old liner out of the pool and replace it with a beautiful new one... and the filter too. FUN with a capital "F". Then fill it up... watch out summer... here we come! Margos by the pool... AWESOME

Group vibes: Please send warmth and positive thoughts to our Vancouver bound friends (Lisa was asking/ begging for warmth). No more Aloha for them. Let's give them some sun... they're about to come home whining about having to be back (boo hoo)!

This summer it's LOTS of boating in the area lakes, but since we leave for out next cruise before the end of summer..........September 14, I guess you could say that's a summer cruise! New England/Canada on the Golden. First time on Princess, so I'm really excited about that, and upgraded to a mini suite..................YEA!!!

Hope everyone has some GREAT plans for their summer!

Take Care!
Jaime

Hubby and I will do a land cruise to Acapulco in June....it's a freebie from his job and we get to leave the kids with Grandpa! We'll celebrate our 20th anniversary (August) a little early. At some point I'll be going to New Jersey to help Dad move out of his house and into an apartment. His house is on the market now and has had several lookers so hopefully things will happen before school starts again in August. I'd like to take my son up to NJ with me. Daughter will have to be around for summer school drivers ed. and band camp. Today was their last day of school!

Next long vacation will be in August. We'll stay a few nights in Boston at the Mariott Long Warf and then spend 6 nights at a beautiful Bed and Breakfast in Sandwich on Cape Cod. Hopefully we'll get a few long weekends away somewhere nice too. Since my husband travels a lot for his job, I get to join him for the weekend where ever he is located at any particular moment. Nice way to see different places. Phyll

we'll be squeezing in a few 3 day weekends at our lake cabin. Not a fancy place, but it's where I recharge my batteries away from work - and there's NO cell phones, TV's or computers allowed on the property...lol

My next actual vacation is 7-10 days during September when I head out for my annual solo roadtrip / trout fishing / disappearing into the countryside. After that we'll hopefully start planning on a cruise for next January or February - the perfect time to exit from Minnesota for a midwinter break

Next cruise for me is the Cruisemates Alaska Adventure, just a mere 99 days away, but getting closer, can't wait!

Anyone thinking about joining us, prices are great and ship is Celebrity Infinity, here are the details:

Just returned from RV'ing the Western U.S. and had a wonderful time. Probably cost more than a cruise but was nice to see the wilderness (and snow! which I haven't seen in 7 years) of that part of the country. The mountains and terrain were awesome. Must do it again but take longer, more relaxing time and not try to cover so much territory at once.

Regards,
Thomas

You guys all seem to be gearing up for some great times. We are trying something I have not seen discussed in this web site. I would apprecaie any feedback from those who have done what we are doing in 56 days.

We are taking the Scotia Prince ferry from Portsmouth, ME to Nova Scotia. It is one nite up and one day back but in between we have three days to explore NS. The package includes land lodging. The ship has cabins. Some with bath and some you have to share a bath. We have our own bath...per wife's request. There are restaurants and shows and casino on board. Looks like fun for wife who likes that type of area. Me? I prefer sandy beaches and cold adult beverages but will have fun as well in NS.

Have fun wherever and whatever you are doing this summer etc.
Bob

Please let me know of your experience as we were planning a similar trip next year to enjoy the Fall color's at the request of our aging mother. She said she had always wanted to see that part of the country before she got too old to travel. We have a lead on a cottage on a island off the coast of Maine and planned on travelling (boat or car) to Novia Scotia and Halifax. I'd be very interested in your adventures/recommendations.

Regards,
Thomas
