Location: Greater Tampa Bay area (south of the BIG BRIDGE!)
Ok Get Lei'd Group...time to 'fess up!
The unpacking is complete so I will now tally some statistics:
Clothes unused for me:
4 shorts outfits
1 pr. slacks
4 pr. underwear (took extras and these were the extras backups....just new the laugh
factor would come into play.....and it did!!!!!!)
1 bathing suit
1 sweatshirt (that would have been worn if CA hadn't talked me into buying another
one on the ship!)
shoes: only my beach shoes were not work....other 9 pr. were!
3 pr. pants
a few undershirts
2 bathing suits
socks and underwear
All luggage returned and no worse for wear.
Searched only once.....in Seattle....they wanted to see my lead bag that the film was in.....but they didn't open it....just wanted to see it. This got through security in Sarasota unnoticed.....go figure.
Now for the poundage:
I lost 3 lbs........ Don found it!!!.....so we are even between us.
2 bathing suits and a few cover-up items
.....Granted, a few items were only worn once very briefly (just so they would not end up on this list-lol), and I could have done without them. Some items were "recycled" a time or two.
His Not Worn List:
1 pair of tennis shoes
3 pairs of socks
Phlamingo tropical tatoos (forgot I put them in the suitcase-found them in a tiny pocket)
One roll of Aloha Name Labels
A six-pack of brewskies and a bottle of rum (Left it for the cabin steward)
Several extra masks and snorkels
Spare Compact Flash cards....downloaded photos to laptop for storage instead
Around a dozen colored markers
One rhinestone earring-never found the mate during the cruise and I gave up midriff jewelry ages ago, along with the bikini!
And thankfully, I never had to use the flashlight or break into the medicine bag!
Oh yeah, and Chicken Foot....Tom?
I would NEVER weigh myself directly after a cruise. The very thought! I know the scale ALWAYS slides upwards for us post-cruise, just from "feel". I'll bet especially so this cruise, judging from my clothes and the fact that I did not ban myself from the elevator this trip! lol
Do you think it was coincidence that the afternoon pizza and ice cream service began at the same time? I don't. I think you were required to indulge in both.
Fess up? I'm not sure I understand. This is extremely personal. Fess up, indeed!
OK, OK. As best I can remember:
1 Hawaiian shirt
2 pr black socks
5 pr walking (Thorlo) socks
1 baseball cap
2 pr shorts
approx. 2 lbs of antler decorations
pocket electric fan
Save-a-dive kit (I'm GLAD I didn't need it)
Spare dive watch
Spare Witz box
2 croakies (did use a third one)
1 beach towel (used it as blanket from LAX to HNL, but not thereafter)
2 disposable cameras
LOTS of medicine (gladly unused)
just a few other little misc. things
I can't speak for CruiseCam, but I know she has a list, too.
I am terribly sorry that I cannot provide a list due to the fact that I have not yet unpacked. (Working the magic back for all it's worth.)
I know I did not wear a lot of T-shirts because in my distracted state, I packed T-shirts TWICE and underwear half. Hello, Walmart !!!
I'm much better at packing for Queeg than for me. He wore all his shirts, didn't wear one tie, wore all three sets of bowtie and cummerbund (snappy dresser, that Queeg) and failed only to wear one pair of shorts.
I know I didn't wear the faithful black cocktail dress that goes on EVERY cruise, sort of as a safety net (no waist!). I also didn't wear the white satin pajamas I bought before the LAST cruise as I was planning to lounge in luxury. I wore two of three swimsuits.
Since this IS the privacy of the confessional, I will admit that I only wore anything remotely resembling pantyhose ONE NIGHT and that out of deference to the sanctity of the Captain's Table. (The hose looked great with the Ace bandage and slippers.)
I mean, who wants to hide a pedicure with polish called "Twenty Candles on My Cake" ???
Once the unpacking is complete, perhaps I can offfer further confessions.
Oh I forgot I did leave 5 lbs. of weight behind, but I didnít need that anyway. <G> I guess all of the walking and stair climbing helped with the fact that I only ate desert 3 times. We did have our carry on bags searched and they kept the roll of packing tape, canít figure out way guess the security need it.
Why didn't I spot this thread before? I wore everything but one swimsuit and one very brightly flowered one piece short outfit that just fit when I put it in the suitcase!
I was afraid to try it on the cruise (also the bathroom issue, jumpsuit type clothes are a pain).
I'm missing a white cardigan I always take with me due to getting cold easy but I think it may be in the garment bag, which holds the dressy stuff, that is still sitting on my front screened porch. My neighbors think I'm going away again.
I gained 3 lbs but lost it already, doing the yard work, digging up and planting my garden, riding my bike and walking 2 or 3 miles every day (which I did not do this cruise).
