Suzie - see the pic in the thread below - Kuki was addressing the gathering of CruiseMates at the Hilton in Honolulu last month - there was a group of 10 of us who had booked the cruise as a surprise for Pamda......this is just before he introduced the Mystery Guests.

And he knew they were carrying a rope !!!

For those who missed out on all the intrigue, the Mystery Guests, Kuki, and Ginny kept the secret for six long months. A couple of lady friends wouldn't allow their husbands to speak to me on the phone for fear they would blurt!

Then poor Kuki had to come up with a method to get me out of the way for a while. He said (liar!) that the hotel wouldn't turn over the boxes of antlers to him (shipped lame-day UPS) and I had to sign for them. So, off Geela and I trotted. Funny thing ... my name didn't appear ANYWHERE on the packing slips. I gave Geela a Significant Look. "You know Morris ..."

So we were schlepping the antlers along and who should appear but Kuki to help carry?

There were hints all over the place and I missed every one.

Two beauties ... just color me unconscious: Mgram telling me that she and Don were trucking down to help her "Mom", Marie, close up her winter residence so the phone would be turned off and she would have to call me. Like, Duh, Pat .... would you not be having your cellphone with you?

Then, when I was surpised with a gorgeous lei at the airport and the lei person feigned ignorance as to who sent it? Finally, Merm and Kathy said they'd gotten them, too, and they came from Divetex and Cruisecam. Brilliant me, I said, "Wow. Let's call and order one FedExed to Camilla as a thank-you. But I don't have their address." Kathy rattled it off then suddenly realized what was going on as my hand hovered over the phone. "But I don't remember the zip code." Mermaid derailed that conversation with grace and verve.

I have NEVER been so surprised by ANYTHING in my life.

Yep, pamda, I arranged to have CA call you to tell you to call my cell because I couldn't get the # to connect .... he even told you that he tried HIS cell and it wouldn't connect. I was afraid that your Caller ID would say 'Mgram in Paradise' if I tried calling you from Honolulu instead of Ft. Lauderdale. The M.G. Underground was alive and well for 6 months! WE GOT YA!!!!!!!!

And I have never, ever enjoyed being "gotten" so much. Many have tried, only the Phlamingos have pulled it off.
