Default Greetings from Skagway

Hi Everyone!

It is wet, cold and rainy here in Skagway. IT has been this way all week!

Went whale watching with Orca Enterprises yesterday - it was awesome! Also saw mendenhall glacier.

Today went on white rail pass and will probably go shopping this afternoon if eskimo dog decides she can get wet. IF not, we will stay on the ship.

Ship is gorgeous but "loud", food is very good - better then Explorer.

Went to Chops last night for dinner and had the best filet mignon I have ever had.

Off to eat lunch. Hope the weather gets better the rest of the trip!

Theresa

Theresa......sure hope there were ORCAS! When I called Capt. Larry's yesterday to book for August they said that the whale watching had been wonderful....for HUMPBACKS soooo I am sure you had a great encounter.....but that they usually only see Orcas an average of once a week.....not good enough odds for me....so I didn't book it....not at $210 for the 2 of us. Our whale watch off of Mass. last summer quenched our thirst for Humpbacks....especially since they were bubble feeding......awesome sight. I WANT TO SEE ORCAS that close.

Thanks for checking in, Theresa. I guess this means it's still raining, or you'd be outside enjoying Skagway. Why not go climb Chilkoot Pass? There's plenty of time, right?

Hope the rain stops for you, and congrats on the whales.

SO GOOD to hear from you Theresa. Sure hope the weather improves for you. Sounds like you're getting to do a lot in spite of the situation. Stay warm and dry if you can.

Theresa,
Sounds like you are having fun in spite of the "bad" weather. Also glad to hear you enjoyed the whale watching in Juneau, we are planning on doing that as well.
Enjoy the rest of the cruise, hopeing for warm temps and some sunshine for you :-)

Theresa, good to hear from you! Hope the weather improves! Stay dry or I will have to come over there and force-feed you chicken soup!
