Default Golden Pricncess Cabin with Balcony or Mini Suire

Wondering what your suggestions are on taking a cabin with a balcony or a Mini Suite on the Golden Princess for Nov 9th. Is there that much of a difference between the two types of cabins? As I'm wanting to impress my hubby with cruising - yet not break the bank in the process. I've gotten some quotes from listing in the Classified Section of this site that are about 200.00 more for a mini suite - not sure if it's worth the added money.

Oh, how I wish we could join you all for Thanksgiving. It's also our 5th Anniversary on Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, my husband has to work all holidays except Christmas. He works for the Postal Service in Tampa Bay area - being it's high season then - no time off
Thank you for the invite though I KNOW you'll all have a wonderful time.

Sorry, Hugger....never been on the Golden so I can't really answer specifically. You might try to go to the website I have listed below and check out their database for the picture and description of each type of cabin on the Golden. Maybe it will help you make your decision. Good Luck!

Have been on the Grand twice. (a twin of the Golden).
I had a balcony on Caribe deck. My dad had a minisuite on Dolphin deck.
Our balcony was almost twice the size of their minisuite balcony. Their room was a little bigger and they had a butler, but I wouldn't need or want the butler (plus there is an extra person to tip in addition to your cabin steward).
And if I am going to spend any extra time anywhere, it wont be in the room, but on the balcony, so I would choose the bigger balcony over the bigger room any day!
Ask for a room on Caribe deck. That deck has the biggest balconies. They are half exposed and half covered. More than enough privacy.

Thanks for all the info gang
I did go ahead with a mini cruise as I got a better price on it than I could an outside with a balcony - I sure hope we're happy with - we are on Dolphin Deck towards the bow (not to far forward though) Cal Ford from Lido Deck Cruises gave me a great deal on it - I guess that Princess had just put the mini suites on sale today. Cal did make a mistake in his rate figures however, he's standing by this quote and giving me the rate he quoted which is very good. I checked with Princess and they said that they've been doing business with Lido Deck cruises for year's and that they are very reputable. I feel that with Cal Ford standing by his rate quote that makes for a reputable agent too.

Thanks so much for all of your advice and help - I do so appreciate it. Without this forum I wouldn't have gotten the cruise and rate at all.

Yes I am in Tampa Bay - just North of Clearwater Beach - nice to know there are other cruise lover's here too

Dear Hugger, I also saw that great price from Lido Deck, only we deposited with a TA in Tampa. Cal's price was $100 less and would love to go with them but... I have brought it to our ta's attention, but she hasn't got back to us. Her way of saying NO. I guess its because we had one price reduction already. Its great you got in that good price. By the way, we are north of Clearwater also, Tarpon Springs... Nice place to live. Cookie
