Default Tahitian Princess!

Hey Everyone,

Doing a search on Uniglobe for some prices and came across the following:

Ship: Tahitian Princess
10 days out of Papette RT

I was looking for all Princess itiniaries leaving in June 2003 and the date on this is June 2, 2003.

The ship says "waitlist" which normally means it is full (doubtful) or not open yet for reservations.

Here is the itiniary:

Itinerary for 10 nights cruise on the Princess Cruises Tahitian Princess
departing June 02, 2003

OH??? Could Princess possibly be operating this and NOT P&O? May have to look at it for next year sometime.

According to Uniglobe site (not endorsing it - I just use it to look at sailing dates), there is a December 24, 2002 sailing of Tahitian Princess - 10 dayer. That is the earliest I found.

Still waitlisted (probably not open for bookings yet).

It may just be under Princess!!!!!!! Oh my dreams are coming true!

From what I read last week Princess has signed a contract with the Gov't of Tahiti to
take over the R3 and R4 in September. One will offer year round one week cruises in
Tahiti, while the other will be based in Papeete only two months of the year.
I think it was a five year deal.
Wonder where the Rx will be sailing the other 10 months of the year? Hope it will
be in the S. Pacific! We want to do some serious traveling 'down under' in a couple
of years, and that would be a rough way to go!

Dall - from what I understand, the other ship will be doing "exotic" itineraries including the South Pacific.

Here's the article I read on the topic:
From Travel Age West magazine, dated July 8, 2002:

"P&O Princess Cruises Chief Executive Oficer Peter Ratcliffe
and Tahiti President Gaston Flosse announced that Princess
will launch cruises in Tahiti in September, using the R3 and
R4 ships of now-defunct Renaissance Cruises.
Princess will keep one vessel in French Polynesia year
round, while the other will be based in Papeete only two
months out of the year.
Princess reportedly will offer the cruises for five years."

That's all I know - looks like Princess to me, not P&O
