Default Semester at Sea

I received the following email from someone at work today:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

FACULTY AND STAFF POSITIONS ON SEMESTER AT SEA

Semester at Sea is a program operated through the University of
Pittsburgh. Each semester and every summer, a cruise ship carrying more
than 600 students sails around the world on a study abroad voyage, making
approx. ten port calls on every continent except Australia and Antartica.
Faculty and staff are hired for each voyage. If you have an upcoming
sabbatical or would like to apply for the summer voyage, I recommend
visiting their website at www.semesteratsea.com.

I have a brochure for staff positions onboard, I don't know why I don't
have one for faculty positions, but you can call 800-854-0195 to ask for
one.

Aside from faculty teaching positions, staff are hired for such positions
as librarian, info tech coordinator, director of student life, bursar,
nurse, photographer, secretary, etc. Staff are paid a small stipend
($1750-$5000) plus a $700 travel allowance. Room and meals are free while
on board.

--------------------------------------------------------

Is this calling CruiseAholic or what???????

My cousin's son did a Semester at Sea last year, and he LOVED the experience!! Imagine "working" it would be none to shabby either.
Though CA should know.. don't think there's a Martini Bar there<G>

This was on MTV's "Road Rules" a couple of years ago. 6 of their college contestants were sent on this. It was GREAT! I would have loved to have done a semester doing something like this.

Cruiseaholic would fit right in here (Getting to cruise to some really great places, and giving kids homework!) These kids are learning something, AND getting a cruise......they had a BLAST!
