Default Poll:early or late seating?

Went to switch our early seating to late seating. Never did this before on a cruise. But this will give us a break from the kids and we can eat without them sometimes as they will be at the kids club.
Please any pros and cons? Thank you guys!

Here's a link to a thread on this very topic from a few days ago. Hopefully more people will add their thoughts here as well.

Hi Sue,
For us its always "early" seating, more time after dinner to enjoy some of the ship board activities, shows, gambling, etc. So far, we've always had enough time to dress for the early dinner, in most cases on our last cruise we were leaving ports at 5, so we had to be back onboard anyway. We are also used to eating at home around that time and I just can't sleep when I am so full, and yes, I do tend to eat more than I normally would at home, could be its not my cooking :-)

All in all, its really a matter of personal preferance, so if you like to lounge around the pool later in the afternoon and not worry about getting ready for dinner and usually eat later anyway, then late would be for you.

Enjoy!

We've always preferred late. No rush on port days, and we usually get to enjoy the sail-away (not possible if you have an inside cabin and are getting dressed). Have also been know to enjoy our tablemates for a while which might be a problem with early seating and the next group coming in.

We go to bed early at home (10:00) and enjoy the change to late dinners, shows, casino, disco...3:00 a.m bedtimes and late sleeping. Feels kind of decadent and fun. Obviously no kids left here.

On my only cruise, we tried for early and got late. Good thing! No WAY would we ever have been ready for early seating. Too busy with shore excursions or just relaxing.

We probably would not go on any cruise unless it was either 9Preferably) late seatin or some version of "freestyle or personal choice." If we were forced into early seaing, we would most likely stay home until another cruise that met our needs.

Late seating is the best. On my first cruise I had early and I found that it reduced the amount of time that i got to spend on the island, which was already short. This time, I had late dinning and I was happier. We were back on the boat in time for departure and had two hours for both of us to take showers and get ready.
