I am so amazed when I read reviews on ships. Seems some people love the ship others hate it! What makes some people give such horrible reviews..as the old saying goes....The worst day on a cruise is better then the best day at work!

Salem, it is what makes the world go around.....everyone has different opinions. But, I agree with you......a bad day cruising sure beats a good day at work.

Do you think passengers on the Titanic and Lusitania agree with your statement?

Salem... it is really quite simple... two things actually... first, most of the major premium brand cruise lines have, at any given time, thousands of people at sea... thousands. You see a few posts on the boards... very few, actually, compared to the numbers who actually have sailed the same ship.
Sorry to say, generally they are not representative. Second, it is a well documented statistical fact that people who are dissatisfied or unhappy with a product or service (read cruise) tend to post or write letters to the editor in a much greater proportion than those who have enjoyed the experience and gone home to contiune with their lives. The satisfied folks just don't have the motivation to post to the degree that the unhappy ones do.
In short... the boards are interesting, and the comments one reads are too... but generally one has no idea of what has motivated the poster... what their life styles are... what their background is... what their prejudices are... and on and on. Take the posts for what they are. If you embark a vessel with the idea of having a good time, chances are great that you will thoroughly enjoy yourselves!
I agree with Boomer!! I read the reviews and enjoy it. I am the type of person that DOESN'T look for perfection- this way I'm not disappointed. I also don't let the little stuff ruin my vacation. I know everyone's opinion is different. JMHO
Point is that blanket statements are not always true. I meant this toungue in cheek and forgot to put "<G>" after my line.
