We flew our flags on all the holidays until last Sept. but now the big one flies all the time on the front of our house. We replaced the old one a few months ago with a new one because it was beginning to get worn.
I'm having a hard time believing the authorities can find an anthrax spore in the crevice of a mail sorting machine deep in the mail processing center but our intelligence services can't find a limping 6'5" turban top sandy@ss in the desert! In fact, I hope we never find the coward, it's a lot more punishment to be on the run continuously than to be housed in some American jail being fed and clothed for the rest of your life.
What I don't get is their declaration of their bravery yet they attack in the cloak of secrecy. We, on the other hand, tell them we're coming. Tell them we're going to take them out. Tell them we're confiscating their bank accounts. And then do it! No surprise ambush! They are a bunch of cowardly cockroaches who attack innocents. Stand up and fight like a man! !
Saddam said Allah would protect them from us in the Gulf War and bestow victory upon his troops. Bin Laden said Allah would see their victory over the American aggressors. Well from my view that's Jesus-2, Allah-0.
I will be wearing a rememberance ribbon (red, white and blue of course) and a lapel pen that features an eagle, the Pentagon, and an american flag. It reads, "September 11, 2001" and "United in Memory". As I write this, they are reading the names of those who we lost at the World Trade Center. They are going alphabetically, and started shortly after 6:55 am MDT. They just read "Carol Eggart" may we never forget what we lost, but remember to move on and rebuild. It would be the ultimate tribute to those we lost, and the ultimate rebuke of the evil men that planned this.
They are laid across the dashboard (mini sized) in the truck. The one outside is blowing beautiful in the breeze and I am wearing a vest with the flag all over it and a pin I made with beads that looks like the flag. PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN - WHERE AT LEAST I KNOW I'M FREE!
Thanks Steve for the reminder this morning. I took the flag in yesterday because of the rain and wind. I stopped and went right out to put it up this morning after seeing your post. I had planned to fly it today, but your reminder helped.
Ours flies proudly all the time! Both cars are adorned and at work today I looked like a walking flag. Being the wife of a 30 year career Army soldier and the daughter of a 27 year Navy sailor, it's hard to be anything but flag wavin and proud of it!
