Default Pamda....

Pamda,

In case you didn't get my e-mails, here are the questions I was going to ask you.

Here are some basic cruise questions that I thought of.

Should I book my own airfare or take what the cruise line is offering?

If I book my own air, how much time should I give myself so I don't miss the ship? (or the plane on the way home?)

How much luggage am I allowed?

Where on board can I smoke? or, Where on board can I go to escape the smoke?

How come I have to go to Vancouver to cruise to Alaska? Can't the cruise lines use Seattle?

My ship is registered in Panama (or Liberia, or The Bahamas), should I be concerned about the ships safety?

What are those funny colored flags the ship is flying? Do they have any meaning?

Can I take my cell phone with me?

Do I need a passport?

What nautical terms do I need to know?

I was on deck just after the ship left port. A small boat pulled up next to the ship, and someone got off of our ship onto that boat. Was he not happy with the cruise?

If I think of any more, I will send them to you

TomS

Uh, Oh ...

Our secret relationship isn't secret any longer. I have no idea why the server does NOT want you to e-mail me.

It could be that dangerous Swiffer thing.

I LOVE the harbor pilot question. I doubt I would have thought about that in a gazillion years.

Thanks. Merci. Gracias. Danke. And all those other thank-yous.

A long time ago, before I even considered cruising, someone actually told me ships were unsafe if they were registered in these countries. I believed them. Glad I know better now.
There's a lot of disinformation about.

Cheers,
Michelle B.

Don't sniffle, Sue ...

I'm doing a new book and have asked a few people to come up with the most basic cruise questions they can think of, just to make sure I don't miss anything.

If you've got some, fire away !!!

Pamda,

What about:

"What happens if someone dies while on a cruise?"

or ...

"If you jump (or get pushed) off the ship, what happens?"

Harry (in a decidely morbid mood this morning ... what happens when you are working your tail off and still have 4 weeks till the next cruise)

Kids ...

Some really good questions here. I think I may need to send Sue to her cabin, though. Michelle's question about foreign registry (and Tom's) is a very good one. However, she has to go back to HER cabin for the veal comment, closely followed by Harry for the lobster comment.

Please, each of you, e-mail me with exactly HOW you would like to be mentioned in the acknowlegements. Just keep it clean.

Pam.. here's a quote from a REAL post I came across...

<<<<Hi, I'm booked on the Constellation in one of the two Penthouse suite. I'm trying to find out what kind of insuite hookup there is for my laptop(phone dial up or cable)>>>>

With apologies to the poster... ROFLMAO

You'd think that if someone could afford the Penthouse Suite they could likely afford all the cable needed (and the divers to make sure it doesn't get tangled along the way)

Default Pamda

Heres one:

What is the pecking order of the staff?

And for trivia buffs: Who is the only person that MUST be aboard for the ship to sail?

Regards,
Thomas
