I know we have some fellow Canadians floating around on CM. Let's HEAR from you!!
Maybe one day we can meet in the middle... like in Winnipeg... for a CruiseMates get together. Likely the only reason anyone goes to Winnipeg <G>
Hello from Southern Ontario. The last time we were in Winnipeg, our 737 had to dodge a racing coyote scooting down the runway with a rabbit in his mouth. Forget the plane, that rabbit was not going to be lost for anybody. Not sure if I want to re-live that moment again. Cruising is definately easier on the nerves....
I too am on the shores of Kempenfelt Bay. We have our own cruise ship here. It's called the Serendipity Princess (no relation to the other Princess Line). It a remodelled paddle ship. Paddle is not operational. It cruises our bay and also into Lake Simcoe.
Three weeks from today I'll be on the Grand ( the other Princess Line)
I'm fairly new to the boards, from Southern Quebec (bout 1 hr south of Montreal). We're taking our first cruise on the Paradise Feb. 2nd to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversay. Can't wait....about 132 sleeps!
Winnepeg eh?! No wonder you are addicted to cruising. I am originally from Toronto however for the last 3 years I have been working onboard ships, most recently the Seabourn Sun (so sad it had to go...). Currently I am in Wales, awaiting the details from my company as to my new home for the next 8 months..........Perhaps I will see some of you soon on the high seas!
I fly over Winnipeg every few months enroute to Van and AB from YYZ.
Oceanlee and Ali - My Sister was also at U of Swansea 3 years ago for her 3rd year University exchange for biology. My Dad and I visited Swansea and the Mumbles & London England for a week while she was there. Nice area but why do they deep-fry everything??? I wanted a salad and couldn't find one anywhere... Great Garlic Bread though. Love the Mozzarella there.
I am in Haverfordwest, about 1 hour west of Swansea. It is a beautiful area but where I am is VERY quiet, especially compared to Toronto. It is a great place, however when you are on leave from the ship....
As for the deep frying....I know what you mean! I don't understand it either. Salads don't seem to be a popular thing to eat here. Their version of salad is usually a bit of coleslaw or something with loads of mayo. (goes with the deep frying I guess).
Winnipeg? I think I spent a week there one day. One more from Southwestern Ontario here - this bright Monday morning shouts Fall is Here!! It's only 9 degrees - quite a change from the 27 degrees yesterday. Oh well, it's the start of a new season and we should be happy!? I suppose all who have cruises booked are anxiously waiting their departure dates, while those of us who don't just watch your countdowns with envy.
Have a good week everyone. Keep smilin' and cruisin'
because no cruise booked
