American Airlines, Royal Caribbean and the Port of Miami have come to an agreement to start post cruise airline check-in again at the piers. Domestic flights only. You'll be able to once again check in after claiming your luggage and clearing U.S. Customs. Baggage may be checked too and will be taken by truck to MIA. Security cleared drivers will be used. Other airlines are expected to reach similar agreements shortly and Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale will be next in line.
Reinstatement of this service should go a long way toward relieving congestion at MIA for post cruise passengers.
Thanks Ernie...that is good news. I really missed that feature.

Re: Re: AirLine Check-in at Port of Miami to resume
Donna... I would assume it will eventually be started up again in San Juan, where it really makes a lot of sense... but I have no information on that at all as of now. I just know that Miami will be first with RCI, then some other lines and then Port Everglades.

Lets hope they do eventually go back to that again, especially in San Juan. It was still a hassle before even when they did take your luggage at the pier and you could check in, keep us informed :-)
