Default TA charges to send cruise tickets

I put out a bid for a cruise and the TA came back with a reasonable cruise cost.
The one item that surprised me was that the TA charges to send the cruise tickets. The amount to send Air Borne($10) is not any reason not to go with the pricing of the cruise with this TA. But in all the cruises we have booked we have never been charged for these documents.
Anyone experience this from a TA?

Yes, the online agency I used charges shipping costs for the tickets (like 11 bucks). My TA hasn't.

We have only taken one cruise in which we won via an auction. We did pay shipping costs. It is no different than when my husband bids on and wins a camera lens. He pays the shipping. It is the nature of the beast. It is not like actually agreeing with a TA and paying his/her price.

Yes, several of the online booking TA's now charge for delivery of documents(tickets) To me its a small price to pay if they saved you a few hundred $$ on a cruise.

I should clarify. This is a regular TA and office, even though it is out of state from where we live. The TA is in Florida and we have dealt with Florida TA's before. We are in Calif.
Not an online agency

Our local TA hand delivers our tickets! For this service he usually gets drinks on the house.

I can see the fee for airborne delivery, and with the agency being out of State. If it were a local agency I would have a problem with it.......Stephanie

I've paid an addon for tickets before, as much as 10.00 but if I'm paying over 1,000 for a trip and the agency is out of state, what is the problem?

I know postage can add up-- sometimes I can get several mailings plus regarding a single crusie-- I dont mind paying but just tack on a few dollars to the price quote and dont tell me----- sometime the commission is so little-- great TA -- that with extra thing beeing mailed out----- it can mean losing money---if there are changes made etc.
Priorty mail is only 3.55 ? for 2lbs--dont mind that at all-- time wise too

Waiting for my Grand Princess docs

I dont charge to mail out docs. I think it is crazy. I charge to mail out actual airline tickets though! I just love selling cruises, i want to keep my clients happy why charge them more then you have too! My company almost started making us charge but we wont do it so it isnt required.
