POLL- Your BEST cruise experience??

We all likely have our own favorite ship, and though I suppose logic would suggest that it would also be your best cruise experience. However since not logic is not always my strong point I'm thinking they could possibly be different.
Perhaps a ship on an itin that you loved was your best cruise, even if you found some short comings with the ship. At any rate......

What was your best cruise experience? ... and if different.. what's your favorite ship?

For me.. so far I think I have to stay with the Celebrity Millennium. Not even sure what makes it stand out in my mind, since I've also sailed her sisters, Summit and Constellation.

I like this size of ship.. excellent layouts.. big enough to offer lots of amenities.. but still feels like a ship, not just a floating resort.

Kuki ...

You're playing with fire on this one.

I'm taking the fifth (which I carefully packed in my checked luggage and hope isn't confiscated).

That said, I think our ultimate cruise experience (so far) was Song of Flower to Viet Nam with three pre-cruise days in Singapore and three post-cruise days in Hong Kong.

Second in line is Marco Polo to New Zealand and Australia with pre- and post-cruise days in Auckland and Sydney..

Then I'll go with Rottie VI trans-Atlantic calling in at the Azores, Portugal, Ibiza, Malaga, and ending up in Barcelona for some post-cruise time. Do you sense a "portie" trend here?

Different people want different things from their cruise vacations. Some just want to experience a ship. Others want the ship to take them somewhere they want to go to see things they want to see.

That's why I'm taking the fifth.

I suspect that the Millennium stands out because of the company you had on the ship!

Our best was our first cruise.....on RCCL'S Majesty of the Seas....we were on her 3rd sailing so everything was so new and everything was so exciting. Norm Crosby was the comedian and he was hysterical! The ship was the perfect size too. Our third cruise we even went back on the Majesty and booked the same cabin. Now we're getting ready for our 9th cruise in December on the Princess Grand, but we'll always remember our first! We were hooked after that!

best cruise in my opinion was the pacific princess, the mediterian, and black sea, went to greece, turkey, yalta, etc.sat on the mountain top,and watched the fighter planes going to bomb kosovo,we got back to the ship and no sooner relaxed when we were told to get off,and go behind concrete barriers, because they had a bomb threat,we got ane the hotel we stayed in before we sailed got one ,along with one to the port in greece, princess saw to it that we were kept entertained by the performers that were on board,we had to stay on dock for 3-1'2 hours, but they made it as pleasant as possible, will continue to sail princess, all in all the trip was very memorable retired cruiser

Kuki....let me say this....

My 'best' crusie experience WAS NOT the one I was (SUMMIT, Remember...?) on with you ! LOL just kidding....

This one is hard, I'd find it hard to decide which one it was.....this one I'd have to think about...

This is a hard question - I absolutely loved Alaska when I went on the Sea Princess, but I went by myself and didn't have as good a time as I did on the Summit this past May with a bunch of my friends - but I also loved Hawaii and the Summit...........I think just because it was the cruise that got me hooked and all the wonder I felt; it would have to be Alaska on the Sea Princess with the Summit/Hawaii a close second.

Re: POLL- Your BEST cruise experience??

Ernie... LOL.. those "babes" were VERY memorable! That could be it.

Though CA has a good point... I may have preferred Millie to Summit, because he was on the Summit! <VBG> (truth be known I'd cruise with CA at any opportunity.. though not in the same cabin.. I smoke/ he doesn't )
waiting to hear CAs choice when he has time to go through his LONG list.. lol

Pam.. don't know what makes it a dangerous question... but you cheated by giving three choices. I asked for ONE.. your best .LOL

wellllllll......cruises......

because i have never been on a cruise as described above, i canīt say. my cruises have been limited to cruises of the connecticutt river on my fatherīs bass boat or cruises up the elbe river to hamburg aboard the "nordstern", a ship that holds 150 passengers.

i am so looking forward to my very first *real* cruise in march on the brilliance. it certainly will beat my fatherīs bass boat as far as toilets are concerned. and it will beat the nordstern because it has a bed for me. iīm trying to keep to my motto "expect the unexpected!" at least on the cruise with the brilliance i dont have to take along my own food :)

My favorite cruise has been Alaska on Princess several times. We have always had a great time on Princess and Alaska always amazes me. My favorite ship was and still is the Independence even though she is no longer sailing.

Re: POLL- Your BEST cruise experience??

I do have to say this-- I did have a better time on the Summit-- rather than the Millie-- and CA was sailing with me both times-????? Although my dining expericance was almost perfect on the Millie--- John did save the day and my martini glass -- My first crusie does stand out-- not the ship so much as to what we did and with the group I was with---
Keeeping my best crusie for the next one I have booked-- and then the ones after that
Cheers

Re: POLL- Your BEST cruise experience??

My favorite cruise was the old "Green Goddess" Caronia world cruise. It was the trip of a lifetime. However, I was just a kid. My favorite, more contemporary cruise was Nantucket Clipper to the Maritime Provinces and New England. Because NC is such a tiny little ship, we traveled down waterways that no big ship could ever have navigated. One area, St. Peter's canal even scraped NC's sides. Because ships of any kind are so rare in that part of the world, the locals would come out to see us in most places. No casino, no show lounge (only two public rooms), no formal nights, historian, naturalist and whale expert onboard. The cruise was so beautiful, the food exquisite (I watched them bring very fresh supplies onboard at almost every port) and so many wonderful teachers onboard, passengers as well as crew. I would love to go back.

Favorite ship these days? Royal Princess without question.

Carole

I have never been on a cruise that didn't have some form of magic. These stand out for various reasons:

S.S. Independence. American Hawaiian Cruises (Hawaii) This was my first cruise and first time to Hawaii.

Stardancer, Admiral Cruise Lines (Mexican Riviera) Great crew, lots of fun, first time in this region.

Westerdam, HAL (Alaska, Inside Passage) Friendliest ship crew ever, Itinerary with great eye candy.

Ocean Breeze, Premier Cruise Lines (Jamaica, Cartagena, San Blas, Panama Canal,
Costa Rica, Jamaica) Por intensive itinerary and great ship, all be she a little worn.

Norwegian Dream, NCL (Baltic Capitals) Loved the itinerary, not so fond of the ship.

Ocean Princess (Coastal Mini Cruise) First time with a suite, what fun. Well run ship.Great weather entire cruise sailing under Golden Gate Bridge.

Okay, I'll stop now. It is interesting, however, that not one of our Carribean cruises came to the top. I did enjoy them but they were not nearly as special as the others for whatever reason. Aern't memories a wonderful thing?

Only having two and 1/2 cruises, I can't say to much. Really loved our first, the Dawn Princes out of San Juan. It was a beautiful day to board and we walked all over the ship looking in awe. I was really besides myself as I had only seen the ship via picturs or the live cams. The sail away experience almost made me lose it. As the ship's lines are dropped, the captain sets off the ships horn...and then they play the Love Boat theme followed by several other appropriate musical selections. As we sailed out of port. a light cooling rain began to fall. Grabed another corona and stood in the rain till I was soaked. Didn't care. Have the whole cruise, including sail away on video....think I will replay it tonight..... Bob

My most memorable cruising experience was sailing the Marco Polo through the Bosporus from Istanbul to the Black Sea. Passing through the historic strait with antiquities lining the banks on either side was unforgettable. Also remarkable are the five total eclipses I've observed at sea. Hoping to add number six in the Indian Ocean next December, again on the Marco Polo.

Re: POLL- Your BEST cruise experience??

I've only been on two cruises so I probably shouldn't even answer this poll. But I will anyway, what the heck.

My favorite cruise experience was my first cruise, a four-day on the Jubilee in May. It was so exciting just to be on the ship.

Went on the Fantasy in September, I'd have to say I prefered that ship... just a little newer and better-laid-out.

I hope my experience on the Millennium in December will blow away all previous cruises!

Cheers,
Michelle B.

The Constellation has them all beat. A hot sea water pool is the greatest!!! The elevators going up the outside of this beautiful Ship is great. The decor and the suites , You would be had pressed to beat this ship.
