Umm I was just wondering if anyone knew how I could kind of talk my parents into going on a cruise. Cuz whenever I bring the idea of a cruise up around my parents, my mom always says 'i don't know' in like a mad tone. and my dad is always like no cuz he's already been on one with my mom for their honeymoon. And then he always tells me that if I want to go on one then get a job. and I can't get one because I'm too young. I have never been on a cruise and people are always saying that cruise are great and i want to go on one to see if they are great. My brothers want to, too.
If anyone has any tips on talkin them into it, can you please write back.
I sure do wish I could help you but let's face it if the parents don't want to go it more than likely won't happen. Cruises are great fun, ask my kids they are lucky to have been on several, but it is also expensive especially when you are taking the family. I wish you the best. Maybe if you explain to them that you would like to experience it but even if you had a job you would have to be 25 to go by yourself and that you think it would be a great experience for the family to go. Tell them you will do whatever it takes and help wherever you can to make this dream come true. If you are internet savy go to some sites and do some comparisons. Get some info on the ports to show your parents. One site I like is travelzoo.com under cruises. They have some great last minute deals of many agencies. Also mytravelco.com has some great 360 panaromic pictures of the ships. That could excite them in considering it. Good luck to you!

If you intend for all of the family to go, how about you establish a savings plan into which everyone deposits money and make it a family project. If you are this dedicated, they will know that you are serious.
You can use the time that it takes to save up to search for good deals and the right ship for your family. Also, my experience is that the time before a cruise with all of its anticipation is a huge part of the enjoyment of the experience.
Start saving your money. How about finding one of those large pretzel containers and begin a cruise fund. My husband and I actually have a nice size "piggy bank" with " cruise fund" written on the side. When you get change or money from, odd jobs, gifts, or perhaps babysitting, add the cash to the bank if you can. You will be surprised just how fast a nice little sum will add up. Maybe once your parents see you are serious they may be inspired to follow suit. Talk your siblings in getting their fund started too. Even if you do not cruise , your savings will be there for a rainy day. Keep at it and if your parents do not cruise you could..someday. Overall though, there may be many reasons your parents are resistant to a trip like this. Listen and respect their point of view and know there are many other ways a family can enjoy their time together. Miss Sue
Show them you are really serious but establishing the "cruise fund" as suggested above. Maybe you tell them it could be your Christmas/birthday gift. That is how my kids are getting there first cruise this year.
Let us know what happens and good luck.

MAybe you or your brothers can start cutting lawns or shoving snow for neighbors for money - I don't know how old you are. Save all your Bday money and have your siblings do the same. Come up with ways your family can save money and put that savings aside like cutting coupons and shopping for groceries on sale. Get a bucket for everyone to put change in - it adds up quick. Just ideas. It is hard to convince parents but maybe you can point out any commercial about cruises that comes up. Travel agents usually have videos you can take out for free for a few days and maybe this will show them what it is like nowadays. Look up prices on the net to show them how cheap it has gotten.. Put on shows on the travel channel if you have cable (we don't - goes towards our cruise money) and have them watch it.. Good luck, Debbie
