Just read and replied. For everyone else, to insert embedded links, follow the instructions on the Message Board Tricks! page, but put an "=your URL" before the right bracket and complete the tag with "[ /url]" (no space) after your description. Be sure to include the entire web address in "your URL", including the "http://"
Thanks Bernie! This is a big help to all us. I appreciate your quick response. :O)
Let's see if I can get it to show up.
[ url = http://www.full address.com ] text to be displayed for link [ /url ]
You can add the boldface tags [ b ]...[ / b ] for emphasis, if you like.
I put a BUNCH of spaces in this for it to show up here, but don't use ANY spaces at all! NO SPACES between brackets or address. But the "text to be displayed for link " can be typed as you normaly would.
Thanks Michelle. It was that URL thingy. I knew how to post one, but I could see that Bernie was able to just show the name and not the whole link.
Each board has its own way. Some use the < a href tag and others use the brackets and well, even as much as I know about computers, if it is done in a way that I am not used to using, then..................I'm dumb! HaHa
Thanks for asking that question, Carole. I've been wondering too if there was a way to do that, but since it wasn't in the Message Board Tricks I assumed there wasn't. That's a great thing to know.
And thanks Bernie, for telling us.
Now posting as MichelleP.
Syntax can be a pain. There are so many ways to use HTML and DHTML that it can become very confusing. I have never liked putting a link with the http showing. I always like just the name of the place to be what is seen. I too, didn't find anything in the tricks to do this and all of my attempts came up @#$%^&*
