Default Things U DONT give your wife (spouse) as gifts

As most everyone is busy making lists and shopping for the holidays, I thought we should help with a list a things you SHOULDN'T buy for your wife/spouse, if you know what's good for you.

#1.. DO NOT buy your wife a ThighMaster!!
- In Canada these come with a health warning for husbands. Purchase of this item as a gift for your wife may cause difficulty in breathing...... WHEN SHE WRAPS IT AROUND YOUR KNECK!

Anyone else want to help?

Regards,
Kuki

I told my husband he'd best not buy me anything with an electrical cord attached to it. So one year he bought me a shotgun,,,,No kidding!!! If I woulda known how to get the safety off there woulda been a murder. HIS !!!!!! Now he just gives our daughter $ and has her do his shopping. Unless it's jewlery,,,he buys that all by himself,,,and must say he's quite good at it,,,,,<SMILE>

Don’t buy her a Membership to Weight Watchers or Any other Dieting Programs. On the back of these Memberships is a disclaimer that says “ could be hazardous to your health, if given to spouse”.

During the lean years we would exchange practical gifts like appliances , furniture and clothes. Gram now likes things that sparkle and come in very small boxes. Those kind of purchases were few and far between when we were 23 years old with 3 kids.
One year she got me a storm door. No practical gifts anymore. I think we own at least two of anything that can be considered practical.

I would dearly love a thigh master or a membership to a gym. I must be weird. I worked really hard to get my figure back and anything to help me keep it would be great. But I also asked for and got by the way a brand new mop for my birthday. My FIL says I'm low maintenance, but the truth is I'm cheap. So If I didn't get gifts like that I wouldn't get them at all. You can keep the jewlery, pots and pans make my heart flutter.

I know better than to buy Mark clothes. He is the pickiest man I've ever met when it comes to fashion. He knows what he likes and doesn't like. He'll exchange anything someone else buys him.
But he is always dressed so well... and you know, "every girl crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man" - especially me!

Cheers,
Michelle B.

C'mon Michelle, we know Mark only thinks he knows what he likes but you know what he really likes. <wink>

No, you will never live down that one. <grin>

I never buy Mrs. Thomas clothes. She says I want her to dress like a hooker! O.K. maybe 15 years ago she was right but now................it'd take some serious money for her to look like a hooker.

I really like buying her jewelry and that's where most of my money goes. The more jewelry I can drape on her the better it is. Diamonds are my favorite.

Me, any tool will do. I can never have enough. After all, I have two boats.

Regards,
Thomas

Now Thomas. In this case I really don't know what he likes. Besides, he does a good job picking his clothes so I'll leave it alone.

As far as table assignments go, though...

Cheers,
Michelle B.

Positively, absolutely....NOTHING with a power cord. I think applicances should be banned as Christmas gifts. It is a running joke in my house.

Nothing that says "housework".
Do not give me a vacuum cleaner or dish towels, etc. As Mary Lou says - absolutely....NOTHING with a power cord.

And don't give me plants - I can kill Cactus!

Things HAVE improved over the years.

But I remember at one of our first Christmas gift exchanges I received a waffle iron and a motorcycle helmet.

The first item broke the "nothing with an electrical cord" rule, as well as the hint, hint, I like waffles, no cooking item rule.

And the second gift came as a need to use his Christmas gift. Which came as a surprise to me too.

Please don't buy your wife anything from Home Depot or Sears Craftman. My husband has gotten seriously injured by these types of gifts. ;-))
