Hi from Western NY. Not going to be a good weekend here. Wife has the flu. I have gig Sat night so if I get the flu it will make for a very long evening. Looks like the weekend will be another washout. ugh! Am envious of all those going to or throwing parties....ok..I'll stop now.
Good morning cruisers. An early family Christmas gathering tonight with a couple of Birthday celebrations for good measure. My Mother's and my new SIL's birthday are today.
I need to get busy, as I have 5 pounds of fresh jumbo gulf shrimp to cook, a smoked turkey to carve, a couple of gifts to wrap, and one gift even left yet to buy. At least I have the day off! Wish me luck...
Location: Greater Tampa Bay area (south of the BIG BRIDGE!)
Re: Good Friday Morning!
Morning all.......busy weekend, too......Daughter coming over from Orlando ..... and some furniture shopping for her .... she's getting her own place (thank you Dad ... he wanted an empty nest!).....at 35 it's about time!
I think we will feast on the FL specialty ...... Stone Crab claws! ..... gets me out of the kitchen <VBG>!
Good Morning cruisemates! A bit crispy in Calgary today...around 0 now.. High may be in the 30s.
Just getting set to head to work. Should be a busy day with lots of offices coming in for lunch and Christmas drinks. These folks don't know how fortunate they are as today they also get the 2003 edition of the St. Louis Hotel calendar<G>
Everyone have a GREAT weekend, and try and stay as sober as CA will be <VBG>
Good morning mates,
A quick update…. Mom is being released from the hospital tomorrow morning. The staff doesn’t want her to leave but are happy for her. She now has 6 more orders for her famous Key-Lime cookies. This time of year she makes about 75 Dozen and sends them to family and friends. She is anxious to get started.
She wanted me to pass on her Heartfelt thank you, to all, for their prayers and well wishes. You all are a great bunch of people that we are proud to call friends.
Jason If a grin is transmittable, and laughing is contagious, here’s hoping for an epidemic!
Just a little snow in the air this morning. It's in the 30's but with the wind it sure feels nippy out there.
Pamda, hope you are over the "virus". Haven't heard from you in a while.
I really am enjoying the holiday lights and events. I think the hard part is that in January all this stops, and then we are faced with "WINTER". Glad I'm heading off to Florida in January for the month.
ML-have fun at your party tonight, and take care of your cold.
CA- Don't know how you do it. You must be like the Energizer Bunny.
Afternoon gang,,,,,,,,,,,a rainy dreary day here in the s.e. bottom corner of Va. But the temps are in the mid 60's so all is not lost. The George Washington aircraft carrier and it's battle group came in this a.m. to Norfolk,,,,,just in time for Christmas. Lots of folks happy about that. She is quite a site to see coming into the Cheseapeake Bay.
Wow CA you make me tired just thinking about all that. If JD give's you that much energy think I need to change my drink of choice. <VBG>
Everyone have a great time at all the partys going on tonight,,,,stay safe.
OMG--Cruiseaholic!! This is worse than my schedule last year when we had hubby's family (30+) on the 23rd, my family (30+) on the 24th and our 4 sons and families on Christmas. (daughter and hubby were w/his family in Cleveland) I absolutely collapsed after the last one left and vegged out the rest of the week.
Who are all these guests? Are you hosting them in your home? Sounds like the grand opening of a restaurant. You will definitely need a cruise to recover.
We have a light schedule this year. It's not our turn for the extended families. My sis is having Christmas Eve and hubby's sis is having everyone on the 29th, so Christmas Day it'll be just our kids (5 with 4 spouses)and grands.(5)
I am finished w/shopping and wrapping--well --just a couple of stocking stuffers to get.
Today I am doing mundane things like cleaning (I try to keep one step ahead of the health dept.), food shopping for next week, and laundry (not good to run out of underwear). Have a nice and not too stressful weekend, everyone.
