Default So. America Jan 5 2003 Nor. Dream

Folks;
The wife and I are taking the Dream from Buenos Aires, Argentina to Santiago, Chile on Jan 05 2003. We bought our plane tickets apart, so our transportation from/to the airport/ports is not included. Does anybody know what is the best/most economical method of getting to/from the ports?

We are 48 and 47, teacher and law enforcement professions, from San Diego, California and speak French, Spanish and (duh) English. Look us up of you have info or are in our range.

I posted below about the Remis car hire at B.A. airport. Depending on where you are staying will determine the cost. There is also a bus service for about $4.00 pp but I don't know where it drops you off. I would suggest you hire the car and driver.

the port is a 5 minute drive from the downtown location. There are about 2 dozen seats and several small shops plus a snack shop and bar. You will have a short 1 minute bus drive provided by the port to the ship as this is an industrial port.

We arrived at 11:30 but they did not start the process until 1:00

Thanks for your response! I guess you were speaking of Buenos Aires. Do you know about transportation from the port in Valparaiso to Santiago?

Also do you know if we can leave our luggage anywhere safe and explore downtown Buenos Aires and Santiago?

Thanks a bunch for your responses,

I think NCL has a deal with the Sheraton in B.A. You can send the Sheraton an e-mail and ask. I know that they have day rooms for people who have later flights.

We stayed at the Hilton but it is not in a convenient downtown area.

We were on the ship from B.A. until Miami. 30 days so did not use a hotel in Santiago. If you don't use the ships transfer you can catch a tur bus from Valpariso to Santiago. It will cost about $5.00 pp and it will be around a 2 hour ride.

This is a wonderful cruise and your going to love it.
