Is the gold chains which is sold by the inch on the carnival ships of good quality or junk

I had once had a sterling silver anklet made for my neice on a carnival ship and it turned out to not be sterling. I would stay away, just my opinion.

The chains you get by the inch on cruise ships are 14K gold plated. They describe it as "gold LAYERED".

unless specified as 14K they are gold-plated and have an orangy cast to them.

Pretty much junk. They are just gold plated. Nice costume jewelery is what it amounts to.

Gram buys it all the time as she does not travel with her better jewelry. It is lifetime guaranteed by the way and she has had one occasion where they made good on it and gave her a brand new bracelet. It is in fact plated , but what do you want for $1.00 and inch?

I bought a a nice ring for $25 once. Loved the purple stone, but the "Gold" finish has all worn off. Still wear it though, cuz it has memories...
