Different twist on this. We just sailed on the Radiance, and our bags went through during embarkation. I called RCI the week before we sailed and they weren't sure how we should handle the bag tags. We put our tags on before we left home (thinking at least the airline would know where to send them if they lost the bags). To our surprise, we were told by the RCI reps in San Juan that we should head directly to the ship and our bags would be delivered to our cabin. I was fully expecting to claim them from Delta and then hand them over to RCI. Made it easy, just like old times. During debarkation, we had to pick them up, get them on the Delta truck, claim them at the San Juan airport, and then check them in at the Delta ticket counter as we got our boarding pass.
Thats GREAT news. They sure won't doing that in San Juan this week-end. Yes, it sure takes a lot of hassle out of cruising. Only good thing about the way its been done lately, by picking up your luggage at the cruise destination at least you already know it has made it this far. We had to take our bags to the pier and hand them over to the porter and we still had one that was missing for awhile, go figure, they were all together when boarding??? At least it did show up eventually and of course it was my luggage
