We are planning to go on the Tahitian Princess cruise Feb. 7/04 but we are concerned about the possible "rainy weather" that we might meet at that time. PLEASE, if there are any people that have cruised there during the rainy season Nov. - April please give us your comments. The cruise sounds great but is the weather so bad that we should book a cruise to another part of the world?
We cruised there in Feb of 2001 and only had one day of a nice light drizzle that still had periods of sunshine. Changes are you might get wet but that is typical for the Islands of the South Pacific. When I lived on Guam, M.I. I got wet every day, often more than once and dried out within minutes just as often. <G>
We've been to Tahiti three times so far, always during the rainy season (our winter here). Once it rained for 6 days straight while on Moorea, but the minute we got to BoraBora (140 miles away) the weather was perfect the rest of the 13-day trip. The other times, it was uniformly glorious! In the tropics it sometimes rains every afternoon (don't book any afternoon tours!) but only very briefly. Since it's such warm rain, you won't even mind it! Also be aware the sun is extremely strong there and the temperature difference between the ship and on land is considerable, be prepared with cold medicine in case you catch one as we both did...
