Default Poll: Would you like to have free soda/water with your dinne

Considering the wine question I thought of this:

Would you like to have soda and bottled water included in your dinner ? I do and I know they used to do it but not anymore. The price of a watered down soda is outrages and I usually bring my own soda/water on board.....

Our last trip we travelled with 2 teen boys. The best purchase I made for the week was buying them both a soda-card, because that's all they drank all week, meals included.
But I agree, I think a soft drink or bottled water should be provided as part of one's meal.

I do drink a lot of water, but usually like tea with my meals.

Ships water is purer than bottled water.

I also like the ship's water better then bottled water. I've watched a few to many Dateline's and 20/20's about the poor quality of bottled water to drink much of it.

I wouldn't mind fountain soda but not if the cruise price is going to go up at all.

I would like to see soda for dining to be free. The ships water has always been fine for me at dinner so I would not care about bottled water.

If bottled water and sodas were included, the cruise price would probably go up. i don't drink sodas or bottled water - free or otherwise.

Why should I pay more for my cruise to subsidize your drinking habits?

I wouldn't mind having sodas included at dinner if the price didn't go up. Especially since the profit margin on soda is so high. At your average fast-food restaurant the paper cup costs the company more than the soda inside.

I don't think it needs to be included with dinner because the ship's water is so clean, but I wouldn't mind having free bottled water passed out when passengers debark the ship at port, to carry with them during the day.

Although... these changes would probably cause massive price increases, and I like the way the mass-market lines work now. If you don't drink beer, wine, liquor, soda, bottled water, etc., you aren't paying extra to support those who do.

There are luxury lines that do include beverages if that's what you're looking for. I love that there are cruise lines that cater to every desire.

Cheers,
Michelle B.

hmm, i don't recall having to pay for my water glass to filled and re-filled at dinner and the water tasted just fine. Include soda with meals-yes if it didn't drive up the price of the cruise.

We're fresh off the Grand and not once did any of us get charged for soda at dinner. We all drank wine/drinks with dinner but also ordered a soda. Someone would show their soda sticker and we all got soda at no charge and refilled before the glasses were empty. The person picking up the tab for that evening's dinner drinks/wine would just automatically order the soda of our choice (4 cokes, 2 diet cokes) - and there it was... for the duration of the meal!

There was also a water glass that was kept filled with water and fresh ice. We did Personal Choice and this was the case in whatever dining room we ate in, even Painted Desert and Sabatini's.

I can also think of more than one occasion that we were brought cans of soda- and still there was no charge.

I know the guys were tipping with cash liberally every night - maybe this made a difference? I don't know...
