Booked on the Carnival Pride August 6, from New York, to Bermuda. Our flight is from Des Moines, Iowa to Newark NJ. We've never been there before and our TA said our ground transportation to the ship will be the super shuttle in the Newark Airport. She said they didn't take reservations, just show up and they can arrange for us to get to the ship.
There's me and 6 family members and it's up to me to get everything arranged and I was a little worried about the super shuttle since it didn't take reservations. Is it easy to use and is it very far from the pier where the ship is docked? I would really appreciate any information on this from anyone. Thanks in advance. Happy Cruising.
The super shuttle is just the blue van which is at various airports. I think the number is 1-800 blue van. You'll see signs for various shuttle services when arriving at the airport. When you arrive you can call them. There may be a wait, but it shouldn't be long. They'll bring you into the city and drop you off at the pier.
There are also other car services that will take you into the city. So if super shuttle takes too long, call another car service company.
If you're worried about getting to the ship with the super shuttle, you can also take the train into the city, although i'm not sure how feasible that would be with luggage. However if you're interested, you take a monorail from the airport to a train stop for new jersey transit, takes like 5 minutes. You then catch a train from there to Penn station and then you can cab it to the pier from penn station. train cost is $11/person.
