I've book the Legend Exotic Southern Carribbean Cruise (1/28/04) because I hav never been to these ports. I've done the Western and Eastern cruise. I've sailed Holland, Princess, RCI and Carnival with Carnival being my least favorite. The last time I cruised on Carnival was about 4 years ago on the Fantasy. The best cruise that I taken so far has been with RCI Explorer (Western). I would have booked RCI Explorer (Eastern), but my husband won. For those of you that have sailed on the Legend, please give your opinion not only on the ship but also on the ports of call. Still have time to change. Appreciate hearing from you all. I have booked category 8G is this a good category? Your opinions, please
Though everyone's tastes are different, I can tell you in many ways I preferred the Carnival Legend to RCI's Explorer of the Seas.
The layout is excellent.. food and service very good.... and it is a fun ship! Ignore the Urns and you're sure to have a wonderful cruise. Don't think you made a mistake at all.
Location: Wisconsin....about 100 miles south of the Frozen Tundra and 70 miles east of Camp Randall
Re: Carnival Legend Hope I Made the Right Choice
Urns are EVERYWHERE - chair legs, table legs, door handles, wall decorations, bar stool legs....you name it, it's made of an urn!
I was on the Legend this past January and while Carnival is not my favorite cruise line, I did have a good time...food was good, service was good, the ship is not neon like earlier Carnival ships. Layout of ships was good. What I didn't like - no wrap around promenade, no loungers on the outside promenade, booths in the dining room, the almost nightly dance and singing by the waiters in the dining room.
Carnival Breeze with Ray B and Aerogirl 5/4/14!

Luv your pic of the urns! Tells a thousand words! I had the same question, as everyone is talking about them. Wonder why he chose to go the urn route of decor? Well, things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!?
