I probably should put this on the gripe board, but it irks me when someone will post a message on cruisemates, and then someone else will ask that they post it on another cruise site.
I've been on a couple of those sites awhile back, and I do know there is some animosity (though I don't quite understand it).
My point is if Poster #2 wants the info on another site, why not cut and paste him or herself and leave the mention/plug of another site out of it.
You're right, Harry! Those are the rules and really not hard to follow.
I recently posted about some new ship pictures someone had a webshots page, next poster came on mentioned same info, but to find it on another cruise site! Hello!!!
We're not talking rocket science but common sense would be in order!
Perhaps others visit those same sites where the info or photos first came from? It's no surprise that someone with similar interests would find the same content and post a link at sites they visit.
It bugs me when someone asks a question and someone else responds by saying, "Try asking on XYZ website." I even saw one that said, "Post your question on XYZ website - they have a MUCH more active message board."
If they really think the person will get a better answer on the other website, why don't these folks just e-mail the original poster? The only reason I can think is so they can advertise the other site. It doesn't seem right.
Cheers,
