Default Boarding the Ship

What I would like to know is :
we will be staying in san juan prior to our cruise! On the day of boarding should we be there early?? Waht time is early?/ Do you book your shore excursions right away??
The last cruise i took we stood in a line right away and handed in a request, then it just
was added to our final bill!
I remember that we would board 3 hours to board ( herded like cows)
get on board go straight to the line to sail and sign
then another line for the excursions!
We are a group of four and although we have stayed and visited these islands before we would like to see different things and being a larger ship ( biggest for me was the sensation in 95' ) I am worred that they will fill up rapidly?
anxiously waiting!!!!!!!!
Angela

When we were on the Destiny they had FunVision. You ordered your shore excursions via the FunVision channel on the TV in your cabin. The shore excursion ordering capability is turned on at about 7pm and we just planned our afternoon so we were back in the cabin at 7pm and ordered what we wanted right away. We had no trouble getting our first choices. The nice thing with the Fun Vision ordering is that you know right away if you got your first choice or not.

You should plan on arriving at the pier about noon. At that time you should be able to practially walk right on the ship, very minimal lines. If you wait until later, 3pm ish there will be big line because most of the flights coming to San Juan from the continental US don't arrive until at least that time.

Good point about the flights from the US, Michelle.

Also i have been hearing that Carnival is trying out pre-booking your excursions on line, don't know if it has gone into effect as of yet, ask your TA. I agree with Michelle about getting to the pier around noon to avoid all the lines from the in-coming flights from the US.
