Default New Years Eve

My husband and I usually book a New Years Eve cruise and we really have a great time. This year, since we've been on one cruise and have another booked for four weeks from now, we decided to go to Vegas for New Years Eve. We've been to Vegas before but not for New Years Eve. I know all of you are well traveled and I just wondered if anyone has spent New Years Eve in Vegas before? I know there will be fireworks, but what else should I expect? and, is there anything that is a "must do" for NY Eve? I checked the weather for that time of year and found out the high is around 58 and the low is around 34, so there goes my swimming time. Any suggestions out there, besides don't take all my money with me?
Happy Cruising......
