Hi Cruisemates,my significant other has just mailed me with the info.that Millenium July 22 Mediterranean cruise has been cancelled because the thrust bearing unit needs to be replaced.
Sorry to post bad news-all pax.will receive their cash back plus a free 12night cruise before 12/15/2004 excluding holidays,
Free cruise sounds good, but not so good if you've already booked non refundable air
and maybe prepaid for hotels and a rental car. How might you feel if this was your honeymoon cruise or a special anniversary? I think I would rather have the cruise I paid for, when I wanted it. These things always sound nicer when you are not the one it is happening to.
This also means there was (or is) a problem on the current cruise and that they may not be getting to all their ports. Celebrity's ships are not having a good week are they?
Hi PapaBill, this did happen to us we were booked on 'Legend of the Seas'Dubai to Singapore ,this cruise was cancelled because of 9/11 so I know how everyone due to go on this cruise feels. We lost money on hotels booked in Dubai and Singapore aswell as trips we had planned for after the cruise.
We received our cruise cost back and 50% off another cruise but this one had to be taken within the following 6 weeks, due to the international situation at the time we would rather have stayed at home.
A sad situation! Difficult enough to get a last minute change of plans for a 7 day Caribbean sailing when these things occur.
All the planning that goes into a Med cruise is difficult to have pulled out from under you so close to sailing.
The compensation sounds good ( and does sound fair) when you haven't been involved in all the planning and anticipation.
It has been awful we were celerbrating our parents wedding anniversary! im so upset!guess one thing is good though we get a free cruise sometime soon! i guess the aurora will have to do for now but bring it on next year!
