Default New Orleans

We are going on the Conquest in April 2005 and it sails from New Orleans. None of us have been to New Orleans before.

Does anyone have suggestions on where we can stay? We have a wide range of children with us too so not looking for expensive just clean, pool and trolly nearby.

You are not going to get oo close to the trolly without paying weekend rates at any of the hotels. I would ck into the Hilton..it is only like 3 blocks from the port and it is right on the trolly line that goes down to the French Market and just across from the Americus Auquarium....someone else may be able to help you better.

The Baronne Plaza Travelodge is a nice & clean motel, but I don't remember seeing a pool...We have stayed there the last two years...Susan

Try the Doubletree, we got a good rate there, it is near the port, and a block from the trolley

Try the holiday in French Quarter--I think it may have a pool. Favorite is hotel Monteleone also has a pool-maybe you can get a package--it's walking distance to many things

We did the same cruise last fall and stayed on Canal St. we were divided into two groups half stayed at the Sheraton and the other half across the street at the Mariott (Ithink it was Mariott). We got our rooms on Priceline for $50 per night. The hotels were both very nice and the trolly was in the center between us.
