Default Help: Airline ticket

Okay so I bought a ticket on TVOC and now our daughter is moving from CO to KY. Oh never mind the plane ticket I bought!@#$ Anyway the airline Usairways will not let us switch it to my mother in laws name<she lives in CO and is willing to come in her place> I am fuming. Does someone have any creative ideas? They refuse even if I would pay to switch the ticket..........We are frequent flyers with them and have used them many times..still no help............ANyone?

Sue: The first thing I would do is call and request to speak to a "supervisor". If you get nowhere with that person, request to speak to their supervisor. If you are persistant I believe they will change the ticket. You will must likely have to pay a fee to change it though. Let us know what happens.

If you bought a no changes kind of ticket, you may be out of luck. Good luck with the negotiations.

I found this on the USAirways site:

"Can this ticket change be made for someone other than the passenger?

Yes. Third party changes are allowed, however, the passenger's name cannot be changed at any time during the ticket reissue process."

I am trying to locate the complete tariff rules to see if there is an exception.

Sue, there usually is a $100 charge to change a ticket with U.S. Airways. However, since 9/11 they have been real strict on switching names/people on tickets.

Thanks guys..I did not call again last night. I went to bed at 9pm since I wasn't feeling well....I try this week sometime and let you know! Thomas we tried to pay a fee but no luck...I remember you had a problem a while back also!
