Default You Won A Cruise!!

IF you won a contest, that awarded you a free cruise on ANY ship of your choosing, would you immediatley think the most expensive, like the Crystal, Seabourn etc, wanting to give the very high end a look see, if you have not sailed them previously. OR...Would you select a cruiseline, that might be similar to who you have sailed on before, feeling more comfortable on a familiar line? .It's free, you have nothing to lose, what would you do? I would go for the gusto Might be my only chance

I would go for whatever available itinerary appealed to me the most. The ship would be secondary.

If the only options available were routine Caribbean floats, of course I'd go for the high end.

I would probably pick a good one, and send my mom with her sister.

Actually, they're all dream cruises. Never in my younger life did I think I would ever travel, especially with a wonderful husband to accompany me. I looked at another dream cruise on HAL (a veranda, of course) that goes to Venice, Monte Carlo, and Dubrovnik, amongst other ports. Won't be for a while, though.

Since you ask, I will respond..this is probably out of the ordinary..I would book the balcony suite on the Big RIver boat cruise Delta Queen?..anyway..I read a review on it and it sounded really neat..I would never pay that kind of money for that kind of cruise but I would love to take it. From the reviews I read, it sounds really kinda laid back with a little bit of elegance. But like I said it is really $$$$$ so if I won a cruise that would be the one I would take. I'm through now..>VBG<

I think I would cruise on a Celebrity Mille class ship in the Royal Suite from NY to a Circle the Carib, then thru the Panama Canal, to Hawaii and then back to the somewhere on the west coast of Mexico and up the west coast.

I think I would choose the cruise line the best for my family, and then the destination second. I would go with Carnival or Royal Caribbean and Western Caribean if I had to choose today. Like that would ever happen.

Trip:
Seeing as you said "ship" in your question, I would say that I would go for the luxury end of the spectrum and hopefully in one of the larger suites. If it's free what the heck.

If you did throw in itinerary the ship would be secondary but I would hope that accommodation would be at least a balcony cabin or better.

Take care,
Mike

Hey, I win a cruise every month, sometimes more often than that, according to my telephone answering machine. Unfortunately, the few times I inquired into it, I found out it was some low-life telemarketer trying to sign me up for his scam. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Anyway, I think I might like to give the new queen from Cunard a try, if it's free.

I think my cruise would have to include some European Ports. It would be long, too.

At this point I'm so ready for a vacation, and with none secure on the horizon ( first for me in many years) I'd probably think a ride in a tug boat pulling some barge a grand vacation.

My dream cruise - Hawaii, Pacific Islands, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, India. Then, since I live on the east coast, many days at sea to relax on the way back to New York through the Panama Canal and stopping at a few Caribbean ports - like St. Maartin, etc.
Of course on a top boat in a suite with a balcony. After all, I would probably be there for several months, right. Wow, guess it's dangerous to offer me the world. But doesn't that sound great? Maybe the next CruiseMates cruise could do this itinerary.
Bobbie
p.s. I left out China and Japan. Thought that might make the trip too long, lol.

I would take the longest cruise I could go on.

Doesn't have to be the most expensive cruise line, I would look like a pauper on those ships,

Cabin would have to be midship, suite would be nice.

My first choice would be the Pacific Islands including Australia and New Zealand, off to Europe then to our beloved Caribbean islands.

But tipping and laundry service would have to be included.

Any ship will do, but I would want to start in New Zealand and work our way back through the Polynesian Islands, the South Pacific, to the Western ports of South America and through the canal............oh and my cabin mate would be Bo Derek!!!!!

Regards,
Thomas

Thomas,

Make sure you stop in Jamaica so Bo can get her beaded braids redone!

Now make sure you pay for it.

I would take my dream cruise, Scandavia/Baltic on my favorite cruise lines either RCI or Princess, then the Transatlantic including Iceland and Greenland in a great cabin not the bottom of the barrel! :-)

I've never been interested or longed to sail on a top end ship, just not my style, I guess.

Susie
