Default Priest says go cruising

I feel a bit strange posting this for thousands to see, but, you are all my friends and I know you are concerned.
Well, the Priest wasn’t bad. After a lengthy conversation of our troubles, He asked, when we are happiest. In unison we both replied “WHILE CRUISING”. After about 6 hours of counseling, he said take this 10 day guide (10 steps to healing) and go cruising. The guide has daily instructions of things to do each day. I’m currently trying to book a Cruise for Tue Oct. 7 on the Island Princess 10 days Panama Canal cruise.
The Priest suggested that the wife see her Doctor immediately. She showed signs of depression. She will see him Monday.
This counseling thing ain't bad......<G>

Jason - I'm glad you feel that some progress has been made and most importantly that you seem comfortable with the counselor. Besides, how can you NOT like a guy who tells you to go on a cruise? <bg>

Jason,
The power of prayer is a strong force. Glad to see you are both working at this. HAL just put out a list of last minute deals and so has Carnival. Call them and let them know you are a Fl resident if princess doesn'y work out for you.
Will keep you both in our prayers
Anne

Counceling and prayer is a good thing....As long as you both try to make it work.As for the cruise now I love cruises but I just see this as an escape. But I could be very wrong and I appologize up front if I am......

Sounds like good advice to me! Go with the programme, give it your best shot, see a doctor about the depression, and enjoy your cruise! Good luck Jason, thanks for sharing with us.

Jason, Hope that all works out for you and wife. I know from my own experience, needed our doctor's help to get over the hump of the things that happen to us ladies around 50. Hope you get that cruise and pray for you both, smooth sailing in the future.

Jason, Jason, Jason....................are you trying to tell us the Priest told you to go cruising? How much did you have to pay him to say that?

J/K..............have a great cruise and follow the doctor's advice.

Regards,
Thomas

Jason, that sounds like good advice. Just make sure that you invite God on the cruise, too. He won't take up a lot of room but if He's not there, you'll know it!

Wise advise, Steve.

Jason, I'm glad that you were able to get some help. The cruise part sounds like frosting on the cake.

I hope your wife will get some help if she is indeed suffering from depression. I have been through that myself, and getting help is nothing to be ashamed of. It will make a huge difference.

I'm wishing you both the best and keeping you in my prayers.

Phyll

Hi Jason,
I'm glad to hear you are giving the counceling program a try, things like this take time, it doesn't happen over-nite and then, hey, you've always got cruising to look forward to. Hope everything continues to go in the right direction, take care.

Thanks to all for the support. We are booked for Island Princess for Tuesday. Carol's Doctor was at his office for a couple hours today and asked her to come in. He agreed about the depression and gave her medication samples to try. She already says she feels better and has seemed to be a bit positive. That, in itself is something, we haven’t seen in a couple weeks. Today’s Healing step, from the guide, was a great exercise and opened doors that we have not opened in years. This is good stuff… and after 30 years we still are learning.
Thanks again to all. Your prayers and concern mean a great deal to me.

Jason ...

And you think your life is not in danger from a semi-depressed lady given three days to get ready for a cruise?

I wish you both the best. But do think about your mutual response about when you are happpiest. When you're in a situation that's not "reality."

Take plenty of time each day to be "real" with each other. Just you two.

Forget the shows, forget the distractions. Just "be."

Jason,
Sounds like things are off to a good start. I'm glad the counseling session went better than you anticipated.
I hope your wife continues to feel better on the medication.
Best of luck working things out on the cruise. I know everyone has advice to offer so the only thing I'll say is: keep your primary reason for being on that cruise in mind. I know if it were me I'd be tempted to go have fun more than try to work on tough issues.
I'll keep you and your wife in my prayers. Thanks for updating us.
Cheers,
Michelle B.

Having gone through marraige problems last year, all I can say is give yourselves plenty of time and space. It´s a two way street. Use your cruise to remember the good times and for positive steps towards the future. I hope things work out for the two of you.
