Yesterday I saw the headlines in the news paper with a picture...A 17 year old left K-Mart and did not watch out much driving over the intersection. A beer truck collided with her, only slightly injuring her but killed her 12 year old brother instantly. All day this story was with me and I had told my husband how sad it was. Well I never put two and two together.Had a phone call last night from our friend a pastor....come to find out we know the family and even had dinner with them a few times <an old church we used to go too> The family is devastated, the husband blames himself because he thinks God is punishing him because he had filed divorce from his wife <God does not punish> and the driver the young daughter is totally flipped and so is the mother.How sad this is.
The funeral is on Thursday and we are going off course. Please keep the entire family in your prayers..this is a very tragic story.

Sue, that is a tragic story. Sorry for you that it was so "close to home", in that you know the family. Really makes you stop and appreciate life all the more doesn't it?
