Our neighbor´s driveway bends around the back of their house. Apparently our neighbor didn´t expect company, pulled into his driveway just as fast as ever and crashed into the parked car. Right after that all I heard was "Scheiße! Scheiße! Scheiße!" (sh**!)
We´ve been waiting for this to happen for about two years. We´ve even talked about it with our neighbor but he brushed our concerns aside. Now it´s happened.
I wonder how he´s going to explain that one to his insurance! Hopefully the damage isn´t that bad!
Schiessen = To shoot
Gut = good
Schlecht = Bad
(German scatological verb from which our word shyster is derived) = $^*+
He wanted to be sure we didn't confuse the two verbs. Sometimes, he'd say the verb in question and ask a student to just say in German if it was the good word or the bad word. [Stephan: Schiessen--gut oder schlecht?] If you said "gut" when he wanted to hear "schlecht," you'd get beaned with a piece of chalk. Otherwise, he'd just have us chant the phrase in the post above. )
