Default For a certain "kooky" type of person

Ran across this poem by Mason Williams - reminded me of a certain "kooky" person who frequents these boards"

Them Moose Goosers - by Mason Williams (of Classical Gas fame...)

How about Them Moose Goosers,
Ain't they recluse?
Up in them boondocks,
Goosin' them moose.

Goosin' them huge moose,
Goosin' them tiny,
Goosin' them meadow-moose
In they hiney.

Look at Them Moose Goosers,
Ain't they dumb?
Some use an umbrella,
Some use a thumb.

Them obtuse Moose Goosers,
Sneakin' through the woods,
Pokin' them snoozy moose
In they goods.

How to be a Moose Gooser?
It'll turn ye puce.
Gitchy gooser loose and
Rouse a drowsy moose!

--I had a copy of that book many years ago. Some of my favorites:

How bout them canapes?
Ain't they neat?
Little piece of cheese
Little piece of meat....

...Wanna be a dog kicker?
They ain't no ticket.
Find an old dog,
Haul off and kick it!

Ammonia, ammonia, ammonia.
Get off, get off, get off...

Them Toad Suckers - by Mason Williams

How about Them Toad Suckers,
Ain't they clods?
Sittin' there suckin'
Them green toady-frogs.

Suckin' them hop-toads,
Suckin' them chunkers,
Suckin' them leapy types,
Suckin' them plunkers.

Look at Them Toad Suckers,
Ain't they snappy?
Suckin' them bog-frogs
Sure makes'em happy.

Them huggermugger Toad Suckers,
Way down south,
Stickin' them sucky-toads
In they mouth.

How to be a Toad Sucker?
No way to duck it.
Gittchyself a toad,
Rare back and suck it!

Them Lunch Toters - by Mason Williams

How about Them Lunch Toters,
Ain't they a bunch?
Goin' off to work,
A-totin' they lunch.

Totin' them vittles,
Totin' that chow,
Eatin' it later,
But a-totin' it now.

Look at Them Lunch Toters,
Ain't they funny?
Some use a paper sack,
Some use a gunny.

Them food-frugal Lunch Toters,
Ain't they wise?
Totin' they lunch,
Made by they wives.

How to be a Lunch Toter?
Iffa may emote it,
Gitchy wife to fix it,
Go to work and tote it!

ROFLMAO--I had forgotten about Toad Suckers. Thanks for the reminder.

Do you suppose he was talking about the folks who lick those toads (bufo alvarius?) to get high?

If that's who he's talking about , then it would follow that there is a group of professional moose goosers - ewwww.....

Goosing a Moose can be very dangerous
Their reaction may be odd, and quite spontaneous

They might smile at you and show their pleasure,
or use their antlers to turn you to buried treasure

If you want to befriend one you'd better stop and think
The sure fire way is to buy them an umbrella drink

After a few they don't care if you hang laundry from their head
or take funny pictures of them, at least that's what I've read

Get them on cruise and they can be interesting creatures
Give them many drinks, and they write interesting features <G>

Kuki, if I had antlers, I'd tip 'em to you for that rhyme. As it is you'll have to settle for my hat.

From Thule to Kuki, I'd say that you'uns have been spending too much time in the frozen northern reaches. Mooses & gooses & toads ...oh my! And Seahunks, what's your excuse?! <S>

Kuki, that was a great comeback, and as for Mason Williams,I'm glad all I've ever heard of him is Classical Gas!!
