This yearŽs state lottery had a cruise as one of their prizes. When I had a Euro left over, IŽd get one with the hope of winning. Recently a guy on the next street bought ONE scratch off ticket and won a cruise!

Haven't ever "won" a cruise, but believe this story comes close:
This June my husband, his sister & husband were scheduled for Alaska trip on the Dawn Princess. On the day before we're to leave, TA called asking if we'd be interested in moving from oceanview room to inside room (due to ship being overbooked in oceanview rooms) and Princess would PAY us (both couples) our cruise plus $400 for "inconvenience" ! Are you kidding me?! YES ! So when we boarded the ship, we checked our balances at the purser's office and we each had this HUGE credit. AND we came home with the majority of it too.
Next I played bingo on the cruise and won $250. PLUS, while walking down our hallway, what did I spot on the floor?!? MONEY! $2, I checked with the steward and the rooms around where I found it, and no one claimed it......
So, we actually were PAID to take the cruise. I'd do it again in a second ! ! ! ! Yea Hoo!
(And the inside room worked out great. Heard so many people on the cruise who mentioned they couldn't sleep because it never really got dark in their room. No problem for us!)
Not a cruise, but I won a fabulous vacation to Europe back in '85 or'86. Marriott was opening a new resort somewhere, and they had a number of drawings at various Marriott hotels and resorts. I won a grand prize, which consisted of 10 days at the Amsterdam Marriott, free r/t air on TWA (whatever happened to them?), and a rental car. From Amsterdam we took several day-trip drives to various cities in Holland, Belgium and Germany and had an all-round great time. Other than that, and excluding casino action, I've never won anything else worth more than a hundred bucks in my life.
Yes, we have. My husband bought a raffle ticket about 25 years ago for a trip to Hawaii (it was a local contest) and we won it. It was my first time to Hawaii (my husband had been there in the Navy). Well, that got me hooked on entering contests; because before that I didn't believe anyone ever REALLY won those things and that made a believer of me. Since then my husband has won two cruises (just a sign up contest at our local mall) and I've won two vacations from different radio stations. One was a trip to Maui and it was excellent. I play the lottery all the time and haven't won there, and I've been in several final drawings for a car, but haven't won one of those either. We're going to spend New Years Eve in Las Vegas this year; so maybe it's my turn to win on the slots. I play all the time at home (we live too close to a casino and racetrack); but I don't ever win at home. The one cruise my husband won he was also one of the two winners at Bingo and won $750, so that was an especially lucky vacation.
My mom won a trip for 2 to Hawaii and then years later won $100,000. Yes that's what it says, one hundred thousand dollars! Needless to say she is lucky, but she says I brought the good luck since we just happened to be visiting her and the doorbell rang. She was busy and couldn't get to the door and I answered it and signed for the certified letter. She likes it when I come to visit!
I won a trip from a candy company a few years ago on the Golden Princess to the Caribbean with air. I once won a trip to Mexico in a contest sponsored by GE. It was first class on the Golden Falcon with champagne and cavier. I was really "flying" by the time we got to Acapulco.
