We are looking at flying to FLL for our cruise out of Miami. (Cheaper airfares)
My question is on the return flight. Can we make a 12:40PM flight out of FLL when we the cruise ship is due into Miami port at 8:30AM? I know it is about 30 miles from Miami to FLL. The time frame for us is tight to get back to our home airport.
Clearing immigration, customs, luggage and all the other items that get in the way during disembarkation will we have the time to make FLL?
Should we have reservations for transportation or just hail a taxi?
Any other advise will be appreciated.

For my Costa cruise in a couple of weeks, out of FLL, Costa has me flying home out of Miami on a 12 noon flight. I was very surprised to see them schedule something this early considering the need to travel from FT Laud to Miami.
But.. it they think I can do it, you should be alright with an extra 40 minutes to come the other way, and Ft Laud airport is much easier than MIA.
No sweat Steve. There is a time difference between Ft. L. and Miami and you'll have an extra hour. Or wait.......................maybe it's one less hour, hmmm...............I can't remember. Never mind.
It will be tight , if you can get a later flight for the same fare i would go for it. You will need to be in one of the first groups of passengers to disembark. The cruise lines try to do their best to get you off early if you inform them.
I meant chewing peanuts in a BAR. Ray's timetable makes sense. The least hold-up in clearing the ship (or late arrival) or any airport problems and EVERYBODY will want to be on that later flight. I'd book it now, Danno.
