Default Viking Serenade

Does anyone know where I can find a collection of picture(s) of the good old Viking Serenade. I never sailed on this ship but I was dreaming about what it looked like last night. Any help is appreciated.

Photos of the Viking Serenade are scattered all over the internet. But I did find this link that does have photos of her.

We sailed her two weeks before she was sold -- had a fantastic time.

But sad to say, it was before we got a digital camera.

Thank you for that link!

Harry, have you sailed on any other RCI ships? If so, which do you think she most resembled?

Thanks,
Adam

I've been on the Vision and Rhapsody, too.

But she was not like that due to the lack of glass.

Great ship, though -- we had a blast.

Yes, she was trully the last "traditional" RCI ship. I would have loved to sail on her. I suppose that the Nordic Empress is now the closest I can get.

Adam - from what I understand, the Viking Serenade was a converted car ferry! No other ship in the RCCL fleet would even be close to her layout!

She was my first, and until next Monday, my only cruise. I had a blast on her! The person I was with was a stick in the mud, but I loved sailing on her. She was small, but easy to get around. I don't have any pics of her tho...sorry!

Actually I take that back. Probably Sovereign of the Seas is closest to her because she does not have the walls of class that Nordic Empress has. Viking Serenade was reconstructed several times so I am sure that any sign of her being a ferry was gone. She still had that strange back that was tilted inward.

Also had a flat front end. This is an interesting question. I have pictures but not digital as I went on her in 1992 or 1993. I don't have a scanner either. I really do need to get one of those! Very distictive ship. Debbie

We sailed her, and we had one of the flat windows out front. Great view, but the anchor!!!
