Default Death at sea?

My then single friend cruised with her wealthy aunt many times since the old spinster would pay her way to have a companion to cruise with. They cruised together all over the globe.

On the last one, a 14 day trip from Hawaii to the South Pacific, the old lady died on the first day.

Do you think she should've gotten a credit for the unused portion of the old lady's trip?

Regards,
Thomas

Be grateful they didn't charge your friend a single supplement

Cross fingers that the dear departed had insurance which covers "repatriation of remains."

I'd have propped her in the closet somewhere for the rest of the cruise to avoid the single supplement. Recently happened to me that my companion had to cancel about 5 days prior to sailing and I was socked with a single supplement even though we both had insurance.

Companion was charged $274.00 to cancel and I was socked with $700.00 supplement. Should have taken a blow up doll!

To answer your question -no unless she had insurance--- sorry to hear of her passing but --if something else had happend last minute-- illness etc-- without insurance --anyone would be out of luck getting a refund.
