I don't know about Florida Kuki, but it sure snows here! You're lucky you got out of Montreal last night, because today you probably would've been grounded due to the blowing snowstorm, ice, and poor visibility. Lucky you, off to Florida, and off to a CRUISE!
There were some flurries in Tallahassee in January 1979 and some sleet in Orlando Christmas of 1989....my son's first Christmas....we had rolling blackouts to conserve power.
Hope that never happens again.
Kuki, It snowed in West Palm Beach in Jan. 1977, I know because that is when we moved down here from Michigan. Hope you and mrs. Kuki sleep well tonight and have a great time this coming week, I know we will.
Hi Mo & Geela:
Sorry about the cold weather here in Florida for you guys. Sure hope you
guys enjoy your Costa cruise. We are leaving on the Victory next Sunday
(12/07). Happy Sailing!!! John & Priscilla
If there is even snow or ice in the forecast in Florida, or most southern states, people panic and swamp the grocery stores. They clean out the supply of bread, milk and bottled water like they are going to be stuck in their houses for weeks without being able to get out.
We lived in Atlanta for a little over a year and it did snow one day. The schools closed at noon the day before it snowed and people just went crazy preparing for a dusting that fell after midnight and was gone by noon.
If I ever see snow here, I'm calling my TA, driving to the port of Miami and getting on the next ship.
I crack up when I see Hummers on the Florida Turnpike. Man...those things are scary. What a joke...a hummer in South Florida. They wouldn't know what to do in a snowstorm. Give me a convertible sports car any day.
Six more days to my 10-night Ultimate Southern Caribbean cruise on the Summit.
