We will be taking the girls to get their Christmas trees on Sunday. Who out there has their tree up and decorated already?

My daughter and I got our tree on Saturday and it's up in the family room but still just green....it's kind of growing on me! It makes the house smell piney fresh.
Angela Z. who's hoping to decorate maybe Friday night

we've got ours up...kids wanted to put it the middle of November but we usually put it up December 1. I still think it's way to soon but that means it's one day less until our cruise (in April) and w-a-i-t-i-n-g!!! We can hardly wait as it's our first cruise. For me, it's like waiting for a baby or a wedding!!! How does one sit and wait patiently?!?!

In the past, the kids insisted on Dec. 1 or the closest weekend, but since last weekend was my daughter's big move, I guess it'll have to be this weekend. My son, at 15, is still excited about doing the decorating and wants to invite his sister over to help!

Not up yet because I've been looking for a new tree that better fits the living room. Our old tree is about 18 years old and still looks great but it is rather short and stocky for the room it stands in. Our living room has 12 ft. ceilings and I'd like to replace our tree with a skinnier and taller one but I'm having a helluva time finding one.

I need Manute Bol to stand there with arms stretched out so I can hang an ornament from him.

Regards,
Thomas

I have a little artificial tree up with white lights on it. So far it only has one ornament on it. Gotta find the other two. <G>

Cheers,

We put ours up the day after Thanksgiving. Looking at it makes me want to go on a cruise. We picked up ornaments at every port on our last two cruises so we all sorts of tropical looking ornaments on our tree. Much more exciting then the brown looking world out my window, winter in Wisconsin without the snow is pretty ugly looking.

No tree for us this year. Since we are leaving on the 19th and don't get back until the 28th, we figured we could better spend our time getting ready to cruise. Plus we won't have to do all that work when we get home. The kids don't seem to mind.

When I was growing up, we'd put a live tree up 2 or 3 days before Christmas and leave it up until the Epiphany, January 6. Nowadays, Chris and I only put up a small fiber lite tree on a pedestal and stack gifts around it. But I really do prefer big trees--someone else's. I think they are essential if there are children in the home.

My little 32 inch fiber optic tree has been up in my bedroom since Thanksgiving....the big tree in the living room was put up yesterday and decorating it will take us through the weekend.

Robin pulled our 3' fiber optic tree out of the box on the Friday after thanksgiving. It's sitting on one of our speakers, by Saturday our house was fully decorated. Christmas in a box, ya gotta love it. {{wink}}

Nothing up yet. just thinking about it. I haven't "themed" yet for the stairway and bannister ... to say nothing of the manterl ... once I start opening the (carefully labelled) boxes something will come to me.

Buying ornaments in ports is a great idea! I never even thought to look for ornaments! I'll definitely keep an eye out on my honeymoon - I'm sure they'll be great Christmas gifts as well!

Cheers,
Michelle B.

Last year it was our turn to have Christmas at our house, so we started early with the decorations. This year we are going to my sister-in-law so we are taking our time in decorating our house. Maybe this weekend if it doesn't snow like they say (we are In NY).

Ours is up; all 9.5 feet. Too many crystal ornaments. Now if I could only get all the lights to work on our reindeer in the yard.

I put up a little 4ft. artificial one on my porch. It looks real pretty out there at night all lit up and sparkling.

Today I walked by the grocery store where they had all the real trees out on the sidewalk for sale. It sure smelled good walking by them . They even had real pretty fir trees in pots. Maybe next year that is what I'll get so that I can enjoy the pine smell.

Our tree is up and decorated, but we have too many ornaments to fit on the tree. We always get ornaments on trips, both land and sea. It's a neat way to remember those fun time in the sun when we have a blizzard!

We put our tree up Sunday. And the house is all decorated. I still have one small tree outside I need to put lights on.

I put my 4 ft. artificial tree out on my 3 season room this year, only because my niece comes next week and Becky will like it! Inside I have a fiber optic on a table in the livingroom. I pretty much put everything together and up Thanksgiving weekend.

My boyfriend and I are going on Navigator of the Seas March 13, 2004 -- we put up our Christmas tree last weekend, we could not wait! We went to Target and bought lights, new ornaments and a really nice tree skirt.

Did the outside decorations yesterday afternoon ... and spent 3-1/2 hours today putting up my 6-1/2' prelighted tree with 300+ gold ornaments and another 3 dozen special ones from through the years and cruises ... plus all the other things (angels, santas, creche, etc.) Boy does my back ache, but it's done and looks lovely.
