Hi:
Usually, my husband and I are on a cruise for New Years Eve, but this year, I thought a change might be nice......so I booked a room in Las Vegas for New Years Eve. Now, all I hear on CNN, is that that's a terrorist target, they keep mentioning it time and again. I've never considered cancelling a trip I had planned before, but I am this time. My husband says not to worry. I love Las Vegas, but not if this is the last trip I'll ever take. What would you do?
Thanks......
Happy Cruising (I wish I was) Anita
We'll be in Vegas and looking forward to New Year's Eve there! Have spent New Year's Eve there once before and had a ball!
Not that we shouldn't be diligent, but if we let simply the threat of a "possible" attack change the way we live, the terrorists have won already, just by using their cell phones to talk about attacks... and allowing "chatter" to be overheard.
Got a call this afternoon from my recently married niece and nephew in Pheonix this afternoon, saying they'd like to come to Vegas for New Years Eve.. just one night.
Called "my guy" there, and he was really nice and gave them a room. So, we'll be celebrating the new year with more of the family. GREAT NEWS!
I'll say it again - I was apprehensive about a cruise right after Sept. 11, 2001 and a wise friend said, "You're not safe anywhere, so you might as well go everywhere".
I cruised New Years last year and there were warnings about security at San Pedro pier right before we sailed. News was saying it was the worst pier for security and chatter about planning attacks there.
