Since so many of our friends gather here for cruise information (especially just before they are ready to head out to sea) would sure appreciate any help you might be willing to give a Nursing home shut-in. Thanks so much and have a WONDERFUL New Year full for cruising!!!
My friend, Tenna Cantrell's grandmother has recently moved into the Creek Retirement Center in Brownsville, Tennessee. Tenna lives here in the Columbus, Georgia, area and visits as often as possible. There is a competition at the Center to see who can receive the most postcards in January. Prizes will be given for the prettiest, funniest and farthest postcards received. I try to visit nursing homes/retirement villages every week and know about the excitement these inhabitants have over receiving mail. I understand Mrs. Duncan is equally excited about the contest and I feel that my e-mail buddies will help her. Her address is:
I just went through my drawers. (The ones in my desk) I sent her four post cards today.
Two different ones from Tallinn, Estonia, one from the Dover Castle in England and one ship post card of the H.A.L. Veendam.
My post marks will be from Vancouver, Washington. I hope that's okay. Too bad it isn't next month because I could mail her one directly from Prague. Anyway the ones from Estonia are gorgeous. Maybe she'll win the "beautiful category." I hope so! Please keep us posted as to her reaction and results of the contest.
