I brought back Cuban cigars, and always do. I know it's illegal but I'm not selling them and only bring back 1 or 2. I usually just take the band off them so they can't be identified as Cuban. But have never even been inspected.

No, there are not cigar sniffing dogs.

Regards,
Thomas

Same thing with my husband. He took the bands off and put them in our luggage. He probably brought back 6-10 and had no problems. I didn't see any dogs.

Usually bring a few back too and never had any problems. We also get them from Canada and no one ever says a word. My best "source" is our priest - brings BOXES back from Canada -who would suspect him?

My brother will buy a box of cubans - take bands off and mail them home from next port. He also asks for an empty box from non-cubans and puts them in there. Like Thomas - he is buying them for himself and not to resell.

I wish this stupid embargo would end. Cuba would make a great destination for Caribbean cruising. I guess we'll have to wait until Fidel smokes his last cigar.

That's right trcruiser. I too wish we could lift this embargo. Now that Fidel isn't being backed by the USSR he is hardly a threat to our national security and hasn't really been for 25 years. Bring on the Cuban cigars!!!

Thomas
