Well, my father read Time magazine (with QM2 article) today and decided that the Aug. 30, 18 day sailing in Med. from Rome is his choice. Also plans to go a few days early to attend the Olympics that end on Aug 29. Just too expensive for me. Right now I would rather have that money and take multiple cruises on cheaper lines. I hope he changes his mind. I am working on changing it for him by reminding him of how crowded Rome will be, may not be able to get tickets to any events, and (the big one) good luck finding a hotel room in Rome with less than 8 months before Olympics.
Does anyone else have ideas on how to change his mind to a cruise that I can afford money and time wise?
We'll be cruising in Northern Europe that same weekend (Scandinavia, Russia, etc.). I'm sure it's considerably cheaper that your dad's 18-dayer in the Med. And if the Olympics will be going on in Greece about the same time, I agree that the entire Med. area will be a madhouse. Maybe you can aim Dad to the north, and come along for the ride.<S> Good luck!
