Remember when you were a kid, and when the mailman came, and there was a card for you, and your eyes were as wide as saucers, thinking who sent ME a card. Well, thats what the Cruisemates Chit Chat Board is for all of us..When one of us is down, these posts, in responce to our post makes us feel so good. It could be: we got our docs!, a new baby..a request to pray for a loved one, a whine, or just listen to this... EVERY single person who responds with an OK ! ...thats sad, ..I will pray, ..keep going, we are pulling for you, is ONE person, taking a minute of their time to give a human touch to each individual message, and for this I thank you so much.Who knew just a few short years ago, that words from strangers across the world, could mean so very much.... G-D bless the internet......But trust me when I say..it does.....

Yes, I have to agree with you, its amazing the power of the internet. I honestly can't think of the last time I sat down to hand write out a letter, we have e-mail! I have a sister that lives in Az. and its amazing how we can touch bases daily :-)
Look at all these posters we "feel" like we know, almost better than people we see daily and do know, I love this board for that reason and all the ones you mentioned too!
Yup, I agree too. Starting my day without CruiseMates would be like starting my day without sunshine (and we've done alot of that around here lately!).. Sure do miss you guys when I can't get a chance to say hi!
Yes, I continue to be amazed simply by e-mail. I've told my mother about it. She suffers from dementia. She never really did understand the e-mail concept. When I brought it up again recently, she said, "Do you get it on television?"
I agree completely but have some sadness about the internet from a personal standpoint. My older brother owned an envelope manufacturing company he purchased 12 years ago from International Paper in Chicago. Last summer he finally closed his doors after struggling for so long trying to keep it and the 600 employees above water. But, technology won, of course. With e-mail, faxes, picture phones, internet, etc. nobody is buying envelopes anymore.
I agree about the message boards, that's for sure! It makes me want SO BADLY to go on a CM cruise so that I can put faces (and experiences) with names. Seems like such a great bunch of people here.
However, I do still like to get birthday cards. Those email b'day cards just don't do the trick for me...
It's really sad for lots and lots of businesses, like Thomas' brother, who have been put out of business.
